# Self-written Bluetooth app - does the Homey Bridge extend Bluetooth Signal?

My main device is a Homey Pro (2026).

I use a self-written local Homey Pro app (SDK v3, `homey:wireless:ble`) that calls `homey.ble.find()`, `advertisement.connect()` and `peripheral.write()` to control a BLE device. If I add a Homey Bridge in Satellite Mode near that device, will the BLE connection be routed through the Bridge? If yes, does the app need to opt in somehow, and which firmware version is required? If not, is it planned?

No. A user should be able to select the preferred (read: nearest) Ble device, either Homey Pro or the Bridge.

Thanks a lot!

I should be able to put a Bridge close to the BLE device to get the signal to it right? I have a flow which depends on getting the activity state as well as controlling that device
