I have a switchbot device that opens and closes my gate. Is there a possibility to programatically change the icon on the homey dashboard , so i can indicate that my gate is closed or opened.

Not an answer on your question but…

Download a \*.SVG icon file of a gate (Scalable Vector Graphics file) from the internet.

Download this app.

Select your \*.SVG file

Now make a flow with your switchbot device and your new ‘Main Gate’ button

Your topic title is not clear what the question is. Please see [Welcome to the forum!](https://community.homey.app/t/welcome-to-the-forum/31)

And the answer is no. This is not possible with Homey, the device icons are static.

Only thing you can use for a visual indicator is the on/off or a status indicator.

As a workaround, you can create an advanced virtual device which ‘mirrors’ the original device.
You can’t change the _device_ icon with flows, only manually, but you can show different emojis as status indicator.
