Inspired by the thread “_**[Using bridges or connecting directly to Homey?](https://community.homey.app/t/using-bridges-or-connecting-directly-to-homey/154700)**_”, I’d like to know if you use your Homey with or without additional bridges.
Before voting, please read the additional explanations in the â„ą footnotes.

I actually use a couple of other hubs and bridges as well, from left to right:
**Hue Bridge Pro**
I use a Philips Hue Bridge Pro because I really like how Hue handles scenes and features like Motion Aware. Within Homey, I combine non-Hue lights into Moods by triggering Hue scenes whenever a Mood is activated.
**tado° Bridge**
I use the V3 tado° thermostat, temperature sensors, and TRVs, which require the bridge. I might switch to tado° X in the future though. I do really like how tado° handles schedules and provides insights into heating behavior, although I’m not a fan of some of their recent business practices.
**Somfy Connection Kit**
Used to control my Velux io-homecontrol products.
**FYTA Bridge**
I use a couple of FYTA plant sensors. Even though they support BLE, they unfortunately don’t expose their data directly to Homey.

In addition to the standard “Hue Bridge,” I purchased an [SMLIGHT SMHUB Nano](https://smlight.tech/global/smhub-nano-mg24) for my “future” (Home Assistant) self-hosted server in order to integrate the Zigbee devices.
P.S.: Unfortunately, I’m still waiting for the “Homey Pro to SHS” migration from Athom so I can get the SHS up and running.🤷‍♂️.

I use the bridges for multiple reasons. I have some bridges (2x HomeWizard Link, 1x tado bridge) because there’s no other option, Hue bridge and ThirdReality bridge to take advantage of the bridges and SwitchBot and Tuya because of technical issues with direct connection. I also use eWeLink CUBE which I temporarily add Sonoff motion sensors to for updates.

I have lots of other bridges: Somfy, Lightwave, Hue, YoLink, Link-n-Link, tado, Ecowitt, Soma, LinkTap, SwitchBot (multiple), But, Homey is the glue that makes them all work together.

Voted “Yes, for technical reasons” , but "Yes, because I want to take advantage of the Bridges is also valid.
My setup:
- Homey SHS
- Homey Bridge
- Hue Bridge Pro
- 2x Sonoff Dongle Max with Zigbee2MQTT
I implemented the Sonoff Dongle because the Homey Bridge is not capable of handling the number of Zigbee devices I have in use. Using Zigbee2MQTT offers the advantage of doing OTA updates.
Hue Bridge Pro is use to have a fallback solution if Homey fails.
