[APP][Pro] Philips TV Testing

My TV is from 2021, would that work?
philips tv 65pus8506

I have no idea  If it’s a TV with support for the Jointspace API, it should work. I’ve got a 65OLED856 myself and it works fine now.

Are you sure the IP is correct? Have you tried wired and through Wifi?
If I access http://{IP}:1925/6/system, I get some nice information about the TV in JSON format.

Yes, I’m sure. Test borg cable and wi-fi with different IP. None reply. If wrong IP I got “no reply”, not “CONNREFUSED”

I’ve also got no confirmation message on TV, can I configure access manually?

Actually I had the same problem on the first TV initially but suddenly it worked…,

The access has to be set up using the app. But if you can’t even reach your tv through your webbrowser, the app is not the problem.

I agree, it might be a TV problem. Do you suggest to turn to Philips support? I doubt the first line support will have the understanding….

But I believe that the CONNREFUSED message comes from the Homey app following a “connection refused” from the TV. Same on both IP.

Do I need to specify the port number in the app? Eg http://IP:1925 or just the IP? Is it 1925 on all TV?

I can make som extended testing if you give me some guidelines.

I also doubt Phillips support will be able to do anything. You don’t need to enter the port number, the app will switch between 1925 and 1926 and protocols http and https when needed.

If you can’t access the ports in your browser, I’m afraid we can’t do much. Concerning the tv, you might want to try a full reboot (pull the plug), firmware update or even a factory reset.

Are you able to use the official TP Vision remote app for your phone?

Will do, I am working for a paralyzed man who want to control TV with voice as that’s the only choice he have. So it will takes some time before I can test.

Have not tried factory reset as it was a brand new TV and I did update at installation. But it’s a good idea to test TP vision, if that fail I can claim support from Philips.

Coincidentally, I just installed the TP Vision app myself to test it out and the tv api stopped responding after a while. Hope it’ll be back online tomorrow

Nothing special in that manual. No hidden setting or anything. Though i did notice yesterday the Phillips app auto-discovers the tv. Might be able to bring that to the Homey app

Is there anyone with a non-Android tv by the way? I’d like to get some information about them, might make the pairing a lot easier.

I have an non Android TV, thats the one we are replacing because the remote communication hangs frequently (every week). Only way to get it back is to remove the TV config in Homey and pair again, reconfigure all flows. It is a 55PUS6523/12 (Saphi). Will go there today.

I’ll take a look at that. Might be possible to make a “re-pair” option or something.

Can you send me a copy of the http://{IP}:1925/6/system page?

I’ll do during the day.

From the Saphi TV I got reply “Forbidden” from PC with browser on http://192.168.0.86:1925
Homey works and TP Vison works. Be back with the new Android.

The existing 43" Philips Android reply from webbrowser:
“Not Found
The server has not found anything matching the request URI
You can get technical details here.
Please continue your visit at our home page.”

It also works with Homey app
When try TP Vision it asked for code but did not show anything on TV first time
After answering with code 0000 I got an error message and the correct code on TV
Then it worked ok

Unfortunatly the new Android tv reply with connection refused from web browser (1926)

As neither the remote is working on this TV I logged a case with Philips support, waiting for answer.

I just installed your version, thanks a lot man! I’ll edit this post if I find anything wrong, but sofar everything seems to work fine

Hi there,
I just got an answer from Philips.
They confirm that remote control does not work on this platform (55PUS7906/12)

Can you put the app on the homey community store ?

I created a pull request for the app writer. I hope he’ll release it as an update to the Athom store.
I’d rather not have two branches of the app available concurrently.
