# New User Timer Struggles

I found this “wait & switch” app that partially achieves what I’m wanting to do but it maxes out at 89 seconds and I want to get about 5 minutes of a delay timer. If I attempt to used the “countdown” app the lights will instantly shut off rather than wait the set time. What am I missing here?

Hello,

There are couple options for delay in advance flows. Each zone has a " inactive for ----- minutes" card. You can use that as it resets the timer if motion is detected. This way light doesnt turn off when timer runs out. the other way is right click on canvas, and there is delay option you can add.

I think @Naresh_Kodali already answered your question. Also check out the “zone activity” app, it provides more options.

Be aware: if you do not reset a timer it can happen the lights go off even if you are in the room:

- enter room
- Leave the room after 10sec (flow start the timer)
- Enter the room 80 seconds
- After 9 seconds the lights WILL go off even off
