# Nest Thermostat with email login

I have a nest, but use my own email to login (got it some time back).  
Is there a way to connect the Nest to Homey Pro without using a Google login?

Hmmm Nest = Google  
I don’t believe you could use it in any way without a Ggl account and having to login to Google at some point.

I do currently access/control it with my phone using a Nest account which isn’t a Google account.

Google acquired Nest, but you can use an email that isn’t a Google account to access it. Not sure if that’s grandfathered in or still an option.

Was hoping to continue with that and not have to use Google auth.

I see! I meant inside the Homey environment you’ll probably need Ggl account login.  
Afaik there’s 2 apps

1. [Google Nest App for Homey | Homey](https://homey.app/a/com.google.nest/)  
It’s statement about Google stuff (no Nest accounts mentioned) :  

2. [Google Nest SDM](https://community.homey.app/t/google-nest-sdm/43087)  
This one is in the community store  
[Homey Community Space](https://homeycommunity.space/store)  
But this store is still in maintenance (and gets fixed I hope).
