Hi,

I am experiencing an issue with MCP AI Bridge in VS Code using GitHub Copilot Chat and Claude Sonnet 4.6.

Environment:

- Homey Pro

- MCP AI Bridge v2.7.0

- VS Code (latest version)

- GitHub Copilot Chat

- Claude Sonnet 4.6

The MCP server starts successfully:

- Running

- 130 tools discovered

- 6 prompts discovered

Claude Desktop works correctly with the same MCP server and can control Homey devices.

However, GitHub Copilot Chat fails before answering any prompt, even a simple prompt such as:

hello

Error:

Failed to validate tool mcp\_mcp\_ai\_bridge\_homeyscript\_run:

Error: tool parameters array type must have items

The error occurs before any tool is executed.

Could this be related to the HomeyScript tool schema or a recent GitHub Copilot MCP validation change?

Thanks!

> @Robin_Gosselaar Hi Robin, thanks for the excellent bug report, your diagnosis was spot on. It’s a real bug in 2.7.0, fixed in 2.7.1 (updating now). The new homeyscript\_run tool had an array parameter (args) without an items schema. Strict MCP clients like VS Code / GitHub Copilot reject any array-typed parameter that has no items, and that rejection aborts discovery of the entire toolset, which is why Copilot failed before answering even “hello”. Claude Desktop is more lenient about the schem…
