It supports parts of the newer versions of matter. The latest update added support additional device types added in Matter 1.3 and 1.4.

It’s likely that no one knows exactly which Matters version is currently supported.

Prior to firmware version v13.1.0, it was Matter v1.2 plus some features and device support from Matter v1.3.
With the current firmware version v13.1.0, additional features and device support have been added (see [changelog](https://homey.app/en-us/wiki/homey-pro-firmware-changelog/)). But I haven’t compared the new devices with the Matter versions.

I asked about the Matter version on Slack ([link](https://athomcommunity.slack.com/archives/C04E9KJAD/p1774883810408839)), but haven’t received a response yet:

Homey’s Matter implementation is very much cherry-picked, for instance (AFAIK) it doesn’t support features like groups and scenes that were defined back in Matter 1.0 already.

We want **Thread Credential Sharing** so the different Thread networks can share same mesh network. Is it included in next release?

I am waiting on thread sharing before I buy a Homey Pro. No way i am going to repair all my 120+ pairings.

If you already have a Thread network, why not use Matter to access the devices from Homey? Thread credential sharing isn’t required for that.

I think you mean using multi-admin right? I have strange setup- i run Homey SHS on Linux/Mint with a Homey Bridge with one Hubitat hub acting as a zigbee aerial… But the Homey SHS has no thread aerial. Best option using Homey Pro is to use the Pro thread aerial. I run 2 Eero 7 routers in access mode with one thread network.I don’t think multi-admin does that. In short I wouldn’t be using the thread aerial at all! I think I have to wait for the next hardware release of Homey Pro.

I was interested myself in how much of the matter spec is supported, so I made a comparison of what is supported with the latest homey shs version here:

> [@Current State of Matter in Homey: Overview of what's supported, compared to the full Matter spec](https://community.homey.app/t/current-state-of-matter-in-homey-overview-of-whats-supported-compared-to-the-full-matter-spec/161178):

> Since this keeps coming up in the forums I though I create this post that I will update on major Homey/Matter releases to document the current state of Matter in Homey. Current State as of 22. October 2026 I compared the Matter code in Homey 13.5.3 with the official Matter data model for every spec version from 1.0 to 1.6.1 (the device type and cluster definitions in the open-source Matter SDK, connectedhomeip). This is based on reading the code, not on testing devices. “Supported” means Homey…
