# Local API keys feature in HP 2023

Can anyone with a new HP 2023 confirm what this feature does? It’s mentioned in all the materials from Athom but I can’t find any description anywhere of what it actually is.

I’m hoping it will provide an easy built in way for me to respond to rest api calls made to my homey from within advanced flows much like the local API app does today (but it’s reported this doesn’t yet work on HP 2023 and I’ve found it crashes a lot). Can anyone confirm or dash my hopes?

Have not tested it but trying to create a key shows the following classes and their functions available;

Thank you. Looks like that feature is maybe intended for some other use case than the one I have in mind.
