I get that, but I’d recommend you def should take a peek sometime. It’s part of the Device Capabilities app, Homey’s “Swiss army knife”.
Some of the advantages for example: no need for flows to sync a ‘real device’ value to a virtual device value & no need to ‘dig up’ the correct capability, it’s simply selectable.

That does indeed seem to be very useful! I will have to lookup some practical applications

Btw, after few iterations, seems this is working for me (class seems to be not so important, the button is…?)

(not linked with device as I need flow to execute)
The disadvantage is that I need to handle “off” state, as this shall replace “Active flow” trigger.

I still do not have any response from Athom on why some favorite flows works and some not.

Perhaps Athom should revisit their communication on how to start flows from Google Home 🙂 This seems to be a way more stable way

Well, not really, it still works for some flows but some [unknown reason, not all favorite flows get synchronized](https://community.homey.app/t/google-lntegration-lost-and-can-not-be-repaired-other-then-reboot-modem-router-homey-athom-is-aware/97954/12). So I assume someone (maybe Athom?) somewhere (could be my issue?) might need to fix something 😉

Not sure where to ask this but anway. I am trying to connect to google home, I just got my homey pro 2026. wheni go through the process in Google Home, I choose my device, it starts linking then says, can’t reach Homey. Is it broken, do I need to do something else?

When you mentioned this, I noticed that my Google Home “switch” was also off. So, I tried enabling it again and it sair “Link your Homey account first in de Google Home app” So I did and still have the same error.

Edit: I’ve had issues with this before and it seems to be a tedious task ☹

Often the one solution is to keep trying and trying until it finally succeeds @Tony_Gorham .
Using your phone’s mobile data connection instead of WiFi seems to help me.

@Rudi_Hendrix Yea, this toggle turns itself off every x days. This has been going on since I use Homey (2020!).

Discussing with Support back then got me this unsatisfactory reply:

 ![Screenshot20260526135902Ecosia](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex025/uploads/athom/original/3X/c/7/c7a2d78de71e4dc5d0b1b6d65dcc58f551cfc811.jpeg)

I’ve added 2 Ggl Home automations to sync devices twice a day automatically.
Note: the existing devices still work when the toggle is disabled. It’s only used for syncing new and for removing old/unselected devices.

Seems it was a glitch in the morning, I got info that it got disabled and it was working few minutes later. Still you have the same issue ?

To me that seems almost like a “security feature”. I hate security features if they’re only hindering. Basically what you’re saying (or what Athom is saying): as long as Google triggers a synchronization every once in a while or it is triggered by the user through Google, the toggle switch remains on?

Anyway, I tried linking the accounts from the Google Home app, flip the switch, nothing. Synchronized devices via the Google Home hub, flip the switch, nothing.
Linked accounts again, synchronized devices via the Google Home hub, flip the switch, nothing.

So, it looks like, the only thing that I can do is unlink and link again.

Yes, in case Homey is not linked (anylonger), the toggle is not relevant (= useless).
