Hi,
has anyone already implented a connection to the Liebherr SmartDevice API?

Apparently you can get all data from the device via the api.
Unfortunately I’m not that fluent in python.
Something similar is already available for HA.

Ah nice Claus, I missed this as this is still listed as a test version. But I will be looking into it for both my fridge (Liebherr IRBbi 4050 Prime (irbbi-4050-22)) and freezer (Liebherr FNdi 1624 Plus (FNdi 1624-20)) in the upcoming days.

Thanks in advance for the development!

Edit; Well went ahead and did some testing for you.

Both devices added just fine, please do note your instructions seem a bit outdated as you can’t seem to login at [https://developer.liebherr.com](https://developer.liebherr.com) anymore. Now you just need to “become a beta tester“ in the MyLiebherr app to get the HomeApi key. But well thats easy enough.

For my Fridge all seems to be fine. Can switch it to colder and warmer. Did test all the modes and they sync perfectly. Only mode missing seems to be HolidayMode in your integration.

For my Freezer, It has a Fridge Setting Temperature of 2 degrees Celsius. Im guessing it should only have the set Freezer temperrature. Changing options with the Fridge option are only warmer tbut dont work as the API does not seem to understand it.
The freezer only should have the options; -16, -18, -20, -28, according to the MyLiebherr app.
The power toggle seems to control the SuperFrost setting. (but having a label would make that more clearer). Besides that it seems to be missing the “BottleTimer“ option (more info on that here btw; [SmartDevice - Opening the door to smart solutions](https://www.liebherr.com/en-gb/fridges-freezers/smartdevice-3011677) , honestly did not even know that was a thing but … I can see that being handy when it comes to parties, spontaneous visitst etc.)

Besides that the history of actions is not being recorded for both devices but the tab exist.

Once again just feedback, love the work you have done already. If I can share more info or test something in any way feel free to let me know.

Hi Claus, I tried the Liebherr api for Homey. Feedback is the app does correctly perform the web access and finds both Liebherr fridges I have. However, I have (one of the 2) a wine fridge with 2 zones and the app transfers only one zone… So handling fridges with 2 zones seem to be the problem. Hope this feedback helps, let me know if I can do more testing with my fridge.

Walter

Would the **Liebherr FNe 5006** work with the homey app?
I checked and the 5006 model has app connectivity, but does this mean it will work with homey aswell?.

</div>

Yes it;s different. I decided to also test it just yet.
The new app; does recognize Freezer / Fridge capabilities which Clause’s version does not.

BUT and that is the main thing it seems to have an issue inside of Homey with communicating back it’s settings. I see the changes apply in the MyLiebherr app but Homey just notes a timeout.

Do hope Clause will still keep supporting his version 🙂
Or the new developer can get his to work smoother. 🙂

Either way looking forward to having Liebherr compatibility with Homey.

Thanks a lot @Claus_Regenbrecht for your app. 👏
I have tested it now with two Liebherr devices, a fridge (IRBbi 4170 22) and a freezer (IFNbi 3553 22).

My observations:

- the communication between the devices and Homey seems to work fine.
- the change of modes (i.e. Nightmode, Partymode, etc.) works from the settings menue.
- the change of modes triggered through a flow (the most usefull feature of this app from my point of view) doesn’t work at all.
- the freezer displays the correct current temperature (-16° C) but incorrectly says that the freezer is warming up towards 2° C.

Keep up the good work!

Hi Claus,

First of all, thank you for building the Liebherr SmartDevice app for Homey — it’s the best working integration available right now and I really appreciate your effort.

I’d like to share some detailed feedback based on my setup, hoping it helps improve the app further.

**My devices:**

- Wine cooler: Liebherr UWgbi 3682-107 2 (deviceType: WINE)
- Refrigerator: Liebherr IRBbi 4170-150 2 (deviceType: FRIDGE)

**Issues with the wine cooler:**

1. **Wrong device type** — The app currently treats the wine cooler as a fridge/freezer combination. The API returns deviceType: WINE, which should be used to identify it correctly.

2. **Presentation light not supported** — The API exposes a PresentationLightControl with values 0–5 (0 = off, 1–5 = brightness levels). This is not currently available as a capability in the app.

**Full API response for the wine cooler** (from /v1/devices/xx.xxx.xxx.x/controls):

```auto
[
  { "type": "PresentationLightControl", "name": "presentationlight", "value": 0, "max": 5 },
  { "type": "TemperatureControl", "name": "temperature", "zoneId": 0, "zonePosition": "top", "value": 6, "target": 6, "min": 5, "max": 20 },
  { "type": "TemperatureControl", "name": "temperature", "zoneId": 1, "zonePosition": "bottom", "value": 16, "target": 16, "min": 5, "max": 20 }
]
```

**Full API response for the refrigerator** (from /v1/devices/xx.xxx.xxx.x/controls):

```auto
[
  { "type": "HydroBreezeControl", "name": "hydrobreeze", "zoneId": 0, "currentMode": "OFF" },
  { "type": "ToggleControl", "name": "nightmode", "value": true },
  { "type": "ToggleControl", "name": "partymode", "value": false },
  { "type": "ToggleControl", "name": "supercool", "zoneId": 0, "zonePosition": "top", "value": false },
  { "type": "TemperatureControl", "name": "temperature", "zoneId": 0, "zonePosition": "top", "value": 6, "target": 6, "min": 3, "max": 9 }
]
```

Note: The refrigerator seems to work well already. The nightmode, partymode, supercool and temperature controls are all recognized correctly.

I’m happy to test any new versions or provide additional API data if that would help. If you’re open to it, I’d also be willing to contribute to the source code if you ever consider making it publicly available.

Thanks again for your work on this!

I looked for the source code on github, with intention to build / add to this, but could not find. When I can be of any help, pls let me know !

Best regards,

Peter Bouwsema

Hello,

can someone explain to me how I can create the API key (value lower then 600000) in the Liebherr app?

I have the long API key from the Liebherr Smartdevice app and that app works. I can only not install the Liebherr app in homey pro.

Thank you for your help

@Marcel_Ravenshorst Claus’ experimental app will ask you to provide the api when you add your appliance. For Bence’s app you have to go to the app configuration.

For everyone. I own a CNC 5703-22 combination fridge/freezer and I tried both apps. Here’s my experience.

Bence’s app: installation was easy, appliance was found and added, but automation doesn’t work as expected. I would like Homey to switch on Supercool or Superfrost if the temperature of the freezer or fridge become too high. However, the only “Then” card I have is “Set the temperature [number]”. In the device settings I can, however, add Superfrost and Supercool as a quick action, so the options are there, just not in the cards.

Claus’ experimental app: same installation experience, automation works well. However, while there is a Supercool “Then” card, there’s no “Superfrost” card. Supercool and Superfrost are available as quick actions as well as nightmode, which is a nice touch.

Thank you both for your work!
