I’ve installed LG WebOS and successfully added my TV as a device. However, when I try to create a simple flow, neither the power on nor off commands work. The TV just stays in its current state.

Has anyone experienced this issue before? Any suggestions on how to fix it?

This also applies to the ‘when’ function for the TV’s status. Nothing is triggered when the TV is turned on or off.

Did you adjust your TV energy settings already?
The network adapter needs to stay active.

1. Can you turn the TV on using the phone’s LG Thinq app?
2. Any active network tools (Pi-Hole, AdGuard, …)?
3. Do you use Vlan’s?
4. Is the _cliënt isolation_ setting disabled on your router/modem?

The only function I found is called “Always Ready,” which I have enabled based on the information that the TV should be prepared in standby mode. I haven’t found any other relevant settings except for Quick Start+.

The TV has been tested with both WiFi and a LAN cable. I have seen different IP addresses for each connection type, and the TV has been registered in the router. The router is a GL-iNet MT2500, in which I found AdGuard, but this function is disabled.

I have also verified that the TV, Homey, Google Home, and my iPhone are set not to use the VPN tunnel.

When I use the LG ThinQ app to search for the TV, it is found when connected via LAN. However, the app on my iPhone then responds that I need to connect my iPhone to the same WiFi network. This seems completely illogical, I have only one network segment, and all WiFi and LAN-connected devices are in the same segment: 192.168.0.x, with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0. WiFi is provided through Tp-Link Deco S7 access points, and the guest network is disabled.

Regarding your question about client isolation, I can’t answer that since I cannot find such a setting in the router.

I have also managed to install the LG ThinQ app in Homey. There, I can pair the TV and control certain functions, such as turning it off. However, turning the TV on does not work.

This is because your phone only can use Wifi.
They actually mean: connect to the same subnet, or segment as you call it. Of course it doesn’t matter whether devices are connected by Wifi or by Lan, as long as it’s the same subnet, like 192.168.1.x

This is the ‘magic’ setting of my WebOS TV:

Thanks for checking; this means Homey can reach the tv just fine.
Having it connected by LAN is also preferable.

@melectro , if you are using a Homey Pro version, I would suggest to try the app “WebOS Plus”, you can install it using CLI.

The app can be found here:

> **[GitHub - MaxvandeLaar/homey-webos-plus: Improved LG WebOS integration for Homey](https://github.com/MaxvandeLaar/homey-webos-plus)**
>
> Improved LG WebOS integration for Homey

How to install using CLI is described here:

> [@\[HOW TO\] CLI install method](https://community.homey.app/t/how-to-cli-install-method/198):
>
> Homey Pro only!!! It does not work this way with Homey (cloud), it only supports CLI run which is there only for development purposes. Installing Node.js Check Node.js version on Homey: Homey App: Settings - General - About - Node.js version Download Node.js (use Homey’s version or higher) from [https://nodejs.org/](https://nodejs.org/) and install it on your computer. Download the app you want to install from GitHub Go to the repository on [GitHub](https://github.com/) (the correct link for the app you want to install is at the bottom…

@Peter_Kawa, thanks for the info. Even though your TV isn’t the same as mine, I found the mobile setting. I have now enabled that setting, and it works. There’s a lot for LG to improve. The layout of the features is a complete mess. They could sort and group the settings much better.

@Marius, thanks for your reply. Since I already have some experience using development code in my Homey for Zigbee, I figured it shouldn’t be too difficult to run the suggested WebOS Plus code. Now it’s installed in my Homey, and I will test it tomorrow.

True. It should reside under Network, or under Energy imho.
And they should hire a decent translator, and have some random non-tech users testing … ah well, who am I 🤣🤣

I’ve used the WebOS plus app, by Max, as well, the best Homey LG webos app imho.

Then you have installed the best LG WebOS integration. I have tried the Athom version, but that is unreliable and unusable in my opinion.

I have now spent some time trying to add a new device, but I haven’t been successful. I can see that WebOS Plus is installed, but it doesn’t find my TV, which is turned on during the search.

To have a clean Homey installation, I chose to uninstall Athom’s LG apps. I can’t find any WebOS Plus card under Flow.

Is there anything I should look for to figure out what’s not working? I’m attaching some screenshots in case they provide any clues.

WebOs Plus is missing in the list of Apps:

Correct. Because you first have to add a TV as device.
If no device was added, this app won’t show in your flow editor.

It found my 2018 TV right away, but maybe your TV is “too new”.
What are the options in the app config?

I would really like to check the options for this app, but there are none visible, unlike in other apps where I can easily see them. In the first previously attached screenshot, the “Configure” option is missing.

Here is an example for Easee App:

 ![bild](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex025/uploads/athom/original/3X/8/0/805a747c3c29e5c1a6ef218e3c9f7d9d7d08b361.png)

</div>

I see. Then all configuring only can be done by the configuring the device(s).
It has no generic settings so to speak.

@melectro ,The LG-television needs a static IP-adress from your DHCP device or if you set in the television itself. There is no global configuration for this application, as @Peter_Kawa already has made clear.

@Peter_Kawa included a television from 2018, and I have a television from 2024. It should not be a issue too include the television. What version of the WebbOS do you have on the television?

But most of all, do you still encounter issues?

After inclusion the setting page for the device looks like this:

@ [Marius\_Stensrod](https://community.homey.app/u/Marius_Stensrod)
Sorry for late reply. My Program version is: 23.20.42 and it has a static Ip adress, locked from my router. My conclusion with this setting, the WebOs plus app will not work with my new LG Tv

@ [Peter\_Kawa](https://community.homey.app/u/Peter_Kawa)

That app works. the Tv is turned on.
Sad that I get no device when searching for new devices using WebOs plus. I only get a new device when using the Lg WebOs App

 ![bild](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex025/uploads/athom/original/3X/f/3/f30344d6da65f3facde581673a9a667cc133fc93.png)

Edit:
WebOS Plus doesn’t even seem to perform a proper search. “No device found” appears immediately, whereas LG WebOS searches for a few seconds and then presents a found TV.

I’m experiencing the same issues as @melectro
WebOS Plus can’t find my TV, but the regular LG WebOS app detects it without any problems.

Are there any updates or workarounds for this issue?

The WebOS plus app has 2 different ways for tv detection;

 ![Screenshot_20250825_210116_Homey](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex025/uploads/athom/original/3X/5/1/51b4f77b4a6aff972ffb8227c302e9a3341a7e02.jpeg)

you’ll find it in device settings, advanced.
I’d like to suggest to try to change yes to no, or no to yes, to see if it works better.

You can increase “Timeout power listener” if “Use polling instead of power listener” is set to `No`.

Maybe entering the IP address for the TV might help as well.
Make sure to always reserve IP addresses for wifi devices connected with Homey.
Homey usually loses track of devices with a changed IP.

Hi Peter,

The issue is that the WebOS Plus app itself doesn’t have those advanced settings.
The settings you’re showing are for a WebOS Plus device, but I can’t add the device in the first place, so I don’t have access to the advanced settings you’re referring to.
