# Ledvance smart+ gu10 unknown zigbee device

So i got a bunch of gu10 smart lights (Osram) from someone. I wanted to use them in my garden. Got 7 of them and needed one that looked a bit like time. So i got a ledvance smart+ gu10 rgbw.  
Now all the Osram lights are paired without too many issues. But the ledvance keeps giving errors.

When i add this light as a zigbee device i get the message that this device already is addd.

If i add this light with the ledvance smart+ app it says its added as an unknown device.

It is shown with a zigbee icon instead of a lightbulb icon. I can use this card to turn it on/off choose color etc. It also tells me that there’s no app installed for this device. But i do have the ledvance smart+ installed as shown here in my menu:

The menu from this app consists:

- enabled
- automatic updates
- restart
- create diagnostic rapport
- Uninstall

So i don’t see any options in here that could be of any help.

But here’s the issue when i have added it as unknown zigbee device through the ledvance smart+ app. I use the app \< group\> to group all these 8 lights in total. The thing is it sees everything except this “unknown zigbee device”. I need this to work as a group to keep my flows overview a bit clear.

I found a thread stating i could interview this device again through the developer page. But this didn’t change anything.

I hope someone has a solution for this?

That doesn’t mean the device is supported. Apps have to declare explicitly which devices they support, based on modelId and manufacturerId.

The LEDVANCE SMART+ app supports these modelId’s:

```

As you can see, the modelId of your light, `PAR16S RGBW`, isn’t listed, so it’s not supported by the app.

You can add the device as a generic Zigbee device (you call it an “unknown Zigbee device”), and it will mostly work.

I don’t know why the `<group>` app doesn’t support it though, it’s probably best to ask [in the app thread](https://community.homey.app/t/app-pro-group-3-2-4-stable/3168).

You may also look at this workaround, got 2 other roof lamps connected this way and it works just fine. I belive it should work with zigbee lights as well

Thnx for the replies! And what a bummer to see this light is just different in one letter by its specific name. Doesn’t say it anywhere on the box.  
@Arnt_Soloy the workaround made me think of another solution. As i don’t want another account somewhere that i won’t use. I still use my home assistant on my server wich has a sonof zigbee reciever. I could add the light in there and then add it in Homey through the Home Assistant integration. I’ll give it a try.

Is the GU10 RGBW PAR16 28 support? I can’t connect it… not with ledvance, not with Osram lightify, not as standard zigbee…
