Does anyone know if there is a app for the LedFX or is happy to make one? I get a Lepro TB1 lamp and i want to adjust it with a WLED controller that also can be controlled with a LedFX app on my phone and also control it by homey. I want to turn it off and on, brightness, scene, etc. There should be a api for it.

I can make an app for it probably as long as it uses a cloud connection. But it’s the Lepro+ app, right?

TB1 uses Lepro+ according to the Amazon listing

Edit: seems like they renamed it to Lepro. I’ll have a look

Hello @smarthomesven. That is right. But i want to have more control on it and also connect my govee and hue light with it, so i can make a party scene with all my other hue/ govee and WLED controller lights. So i will place a WLED controller into the base of the lamp as shown in this youtube video.

I don’t understand, the Lepro app can probably be integrated as well (with some reverse engineering). Then you don’t need to open the device up.

WLED already has a Homey app

WLED controller can be controlled with the WLED app and LEDFX app. It is controlled over Local ip. If the LED light is on the local ip and it is supported by the LedFX app you can make special scenes for all this LED’s at the same time and by controlled by just the IP adress on laptop or phone. The Lepro app can only control a Lepro light. That is why i open the device and get it connected with a WLED controller and controle it with a LedFX app.

I still don’t understand. Is it like a Homey “competitor” where the LedFX connects multiple brands in 1 app?

Is this the only connection method, or is there also a cloud/server connection? I can only use cloud-based devices to build apps for since it’s almost impossible to debug LAN connections remotely (at least for me)

I understand. There is a api document that explain how to control it by the LedFX controller. But i also understand that this way you can’t check if everything is working like it supose to do. It is a big question. But thank you for looking into it anyway, Sven.

Maybe the articel below give you the answer why i want to get on the LedFX bandwagen.

LedFX appears to only support LAN connections (all the examples are calling the API with a local IP address, at least). I won’t be able to build an app for that, since I need some kind of way to remotely debug the connection via the cloud. When I reverse engineer devices (or rather the Android apps from the manufacturers, not really the devices themselves), I can figure out most parts of the protocol without having the device (I can create an account, log in and see how the app requests its device list, and also replicate a real API response by modifying the response that the mobile app receives). This is way harder for LAN connections, as that often also needs discovery which you can’t easily clone or modify the responses from.

But maybe another developer can help you with this. There is a dedicated app requests topic also:

Thank you very much Sven. Maybe i made it to difficult for me without advanced skills. I’m gratefull you looked into it and showed me a link for the app request. I will send my request there.

Thanks again.

Hi, I have bought a Lepro B3 light bulb myself and will be building a Lepro Homey app. Not sure if you’re interested since it’s not LedFX (just the regular Lepro app, with standard controller/firmware). I can also add the TB1 if needed.

If you’re interested, please send a DM.

Thank you, @smarthomesven. But i upgraded my lepro tb1 with a wled controller. So it doesn’t work with the lepro app anymore. But thanks anyway.
