1. Show last (current) value in the header.

2. Show real values in the graph. Now there is a low pass filter over it when it’s a longer timeframe.

3. Show positive and negative (below 0) values in a different color.

4. Add a user adjustable moving (2 hour?) time timeframe.

It’s not a filter, the actual real values are simply not stored. Everything gets averaged down very quickly and only those averages are stored.

“In the beginning” it apparently wasn’t averaged yet, but at some point Athom actually thought it’s (marketed it as) a good idea:

> In Homey v1.x insights were stored indefinitely, simply added to a long list of entries. This gave many problems because simply put, Homey’s storage is not infinite. There’s about 1.6 GB available for user data, and minus apps and voices approximately 1 GB remains. When you have quite some devices running for a long time, you can easily see that storage becomes a problem.

> In Homey v2.0 we set out to solve this problem once and for all. A simple but brilliant solution has been implemented that averages insights over time. The farther you go in the past, the more we average. The smallest interval is 5 seconds, which is visible for the last hour. The largest interval is 1 day, which is used for one or more years. Which is a fine tradeoff, because who want’s to see their energy usage at 12:31 on Thursday more than 2 years ago? We definitely don’t!

.

Alternatively, many of your ideas & more is possible with the [DataVista widget app](https://community.homey.app/t/app-pro-datavista/121482), to display graphs on the dashboard.

If you want data not to be averaged over time, you can export insights to .csv or mysql, influxdb, postgresql
Just search the app store.

For the custom Dashboards you can add Insights. I do not understand why the real-time value is not visible for each selected Insight. You first have to press on the Insight to go in detailed mode and when moving the cursor around a value appears.

For someone working in the process industry checking hundreds of ‘insights’ (or trends as we call them) daily this is quite strange. Isn’t the purpose of a dashboard to catch a quick glimpse of several values or status of an item? A real-time value for an Insight should be visible (or toggled on/off by choice)
