Hi all,

I cannot get the Ikea Tradfri bulb below connected (directly to Homey, I do not want to use their gateway).

Does anyone know if it is supported? I thought this was the tunable buld that Athom is referring to on the particular app page, but I am afraid it isn’t. The app page doesn’t give itemnumbers, so that makes it more difficult to determine…

Anyone having any experience with this bulb?

Unfortunately I don’t have experience with this specific type of bulb.

My experience with the IKEA TRADFRI bulbs is that some of them are a bit tough to add to Homey. Most of my bulbs were added instantly, but some of them I had to reset more than 10 times before they even tried to pair with Homey.

I guess you are well-known with the reset method of these bulbs, so I don’t have to explain it to you 😉 But just in case, 6 times off-and-on with 1 second interval normally does the trick for me.

While adding one of my bulbs, I got too frustrated, so I added it to my Philips Hue gateway. After that, I retried to connect it to Homey and it connected at the first try.

So no answer on your question, but only sharing my experiences 🙂

I got it working!
The Ikea app in Homey says to switch it 1 time off/on, but that has to be 6 times. Make sure you end with ON.
Start with the ON. Then: off-on-off-on-off-on-off-on-off-on-off-on. The it will flicker/pulsate to indicate it is in learning mode.
I fount it not very easy to get it that far, so keep trying.
Then you can add it in the Ikea app.
All functions work: on/off, dimming and 8 color temperatures.

It’s likely not supported (as always, [can you find it on the app page?](https://homey.app/a/com.ikea.tradfri/)).

Well i thought it is the e27 white bulb.
I tried every bulb and no i have it working.
It is called “standard zigbee device” but everything works.

The Produkt-ID is now showing this name: The TRADFRIbulbE27WSglobeopal1055lm

That means it’s not supported by the IKEA app itself, but by the generic Homey light bulb implementation (which only supports on/off and dim, but that’s enough for your light bulb).

I just got the replacement bulb from the one in my first post here above. That one isn’t available anymore and replaced by this one::

Anyone got some experience with these?
The Homey Tradfri app (directly, not via Ikea Gateway) doesn’t recognize it and adds it as a generic Zigbee device (it says). But Homey does recognize it’s possibilities (dimmable, tunable) and type:

 ![image](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex025/uploads/athom/original/3X/b/d/bdce7ffef76f747749f3bb5fa86d0727a85174ce.jpeg)

Still it doesn’t respond too well. A lot of actions are dropped.
I do have a good Zigbee network and not too much devices for Homey.
I sent Athom a support request, but in the meantime: anyone of help here perhaps?

Generic Zigbee device support on Homey is very limited.

How do you conclude you have a good Zigbee network? If actions get dropped it doesn’t sound very good 😬 Unless you’re using the light in flows that manage multiple devices at the same time, in which case problems are to be expected.

Well, it still shows (and carries out) all functions.

At the same place my old Ikea bulbs worked fine.
I have an apartment with many Zigbee bulbs, relays and smart plugs evenly spread around. Believe me; Zigbee mesh is not the problem.
Furthermore, dropping actions is even about switching the device by hand. Not by flows. It must have something to do with the integration of these (partly) unsupported bulbs.
The bulbs are updated to the latest Ikea firmware btw.

I misread, I thought you said it _doesn’t_ support all functions.

It could be that these bulbs are particularly susceptible to interference (although I don’t see any problems about them being posted on the z2m Github issue tracker). I don’t think it’s related to Homey’s Zigbee implementation, it will just send its commands to the bulb like it would with supported devices.

For whom it may concern:
These bulbs (see my post above) are now supported by the new testapp:
