# IKEA AQARA interferences

Hi, I have an AQARA plug that works properly. Last week I connected an Ikea Sensor (Contact sensor PARASOLL) to my Homei PRO. The result is that the contact sensors activate and deactivate the plug. This happened just after the connection, without any flow. Both are Zigbee devices. Any idea? Thanks

Yes, this is a [known issue](https://github.com/Koenkk/zigbee2mqtt/discussions/17244): the IKEA devices, by default, send messages to a particular Zigbee group, and the Aqara devices, by default, listen to that same group for incoming commands.
AFAIK, it’s not fixable with Homey because it requires that the IKEA device (and/or the Aqara device) get removed from the group, and Homey has no interface to execute such a command.

Homey does not provide a interface to add / remove groups from the User Interface (app)…
but it should be possible to send a zigbee command to remove group 0 from the Aqara devices / plugs from the driver side (without user involvement).

It’s really a disaster. I also have these things mixed up every time. I took some out because other groups started to appeal to me than I wanted. It would be very nice if Homey did something about this.

I had the same issue when using the Ikea Lights connected to the Homey app directly.
Now I have moved these lights to the Philips Hue bridge and added them to Hue app on Homey.
I don’t know if tis also works for Ikea sensors.

I also experienced this.
Aqara plugs can also create general noise on the Zigbee network.
A grest solution is to buy a cheap Aqara Hub E1 and move all Aqara units. Then add Aqara devices to Homey as Matter.

Dear all,
I have Ikea routers (Silverglans lamps, Stoftmoln, tradfri outlet), that are directly paired to homey without a bridge.
Now, when I added my Aqara motion sensors directly to homey, they initially worked, but later stopped working.
I paired them in the right order (first routers, than end devices), did a power cycle etc.
What is the best thing to do?
Do I need to add the Aqara to a Aqara Hub and pair them via Matter, or should I pair the Ikea devices to an Ikea hub?

This is a (long-standing) known issue that occurs in combination with Homey, Aqara, and IKEA devices.
Unfortunately, there is still no fix for this…

For now, I’d move Ikea _lights_ to the Ikea hub first. I had no issues with the Trafri outlet + Aqara sensors. Only with Ikea lights.
Idk if you run out of zigbee routers for Homey in this case?
Oh, Aqara contact sensors don’t tend to look for other / better routes, so when they were paired before you added Ikea lights, you’re probably safe.

But what you are saying, is that you firstly should add the sensors, and then IKEA devices?

Ah I see, when you already bought Aqara hub, I’d move the Aqara motion sensors to that hub. But, if the ranges are to wide (for certain sensors), you’ll need to build an Aqara zigbee mesh as well, by adding some zigbee routers to the hub.

No I didn’t mean it in such a way. I somehow assumed you already had an Ikea hub; then moving the Ikea lights to the Ikea hub seemed a way to start.
In general you start building a mesh network by adding router devices.

Great suggestion to use the hub E1.
Did anyone encounter this?
(Device has been reset to factory settings or removed externally)
Seems to be working well in the native Aqara app though.
