I haven’t had the issue with the Homey app grouping and devices not responding. I use it daily with automations at sundown, and later after dinner (changing temperature), and with multiple lights on the exterior of my house and inside my kitchen and family room cabinets where the lights just all sync and work. I think that may be an interference thing for some.

As for the binding, that’s a great feature and _should_ be an implemented feature in Homey Pro’s Zigbee controller/assigner and yes Zigbee grouping is faster and more efficient, also should be on Homey Pro’s controller/assigner so an application isn’t required.

I still don’t know that those are worth having an extra hub inbetween though.
People can do whatever they want. That’s the world, just hoping some don’t go to lengths thinking they need it when they barely even use the features available to them in the first place.

Well, just skip all other hubs and then see if you will be satisfied. I started to introduce many hubs again, and I am more satisfied as without, but not perfect yet…

Same for me, I switched to the hub and matter and it works really well.

Does Homey make the Zigbee bindings through matter or is it only if the devices are grouped in the IKEA-app?

Homey doesn’t do any binding, that’s done by the Dirigera (when you place devices in the same room, from what I remember).

How did you add extra devices from DIRIGENRA bridge into Homey?

I did. They automatically show up under devices, top zone.

Why cant Homey connect with the Ikea [Dirigera](https://community.homey.app/t/how-to-connect-to-ikea-dirigera-matter-bridge/105724) without having the Homey Pro? Cant we use the [Dirigera](https://community.homey.app/t/how-to-connect-to-ikea-dirigera-matter-bridge/105724) to access the devices?

Because “Homey” doesn’t have access to your local network.

Yes, only the Pro (or Pro Mini) has access to your local network.

Yes, but first do check the app for supported devices:
[https://homey.app/en-nl/app/com.ikea.tradfri/IKEA-Tr%C3%A5dfri/](https://homey.app/en-nl/app/com.ikea.tradfri/IKEA-Tr%C3%A5dfri/)

But you can use both at the same time as well, there’s also a Ikea hub app for Homey:
[https://homey.app/en-nl/apps/browse/#filter?query=Ikea](https://homey.app/en-nl/apps/browse/#filter?query=Ikea)

Yes, and no 😉
It might come in handy as “emergency” lights controller, in case Homey is not in the mood to control anything. It always happens exactly at the wrong moment🤔

The hub creates it’s own zigbee mesh (zigbee devices can only be part of one zigbee controller);
when you have enough zigbee routers (almost any mains powered zigbee device) to spread twice across your home, you can use 2 separate zigbee networks.
This wayou can still operate at least _some_ lights/plugs per Ikea phone app.

Another thing to consider: The Ikea Zigbee devices will only receive firmware updates through the Dirigera hub.

</div>

Please note that if you add your Ikea matter device directly to Homey, as matter device (without using the Homey Ikea app), you are able to share this matter device in Homey using the advanced device settings with your Dirigera app by adding the Matter code.

Using it this way, enables the multi-admin mode and you are able to see and manage the device in both apps. As the devices are recognized as native Ikea devices in the Dirigera app, the updates should then be pushed as well.

I have a question:

I have a Dirigera hub and I removed a zigbee device because ti was unresponsive. I added it back, but now I don’t know how to add it back to Homey.

Can someone help?
Thanks
