# How to add ring Keypad V2

Hi,  
I’ve purchased a ring Keypad V2 that should be used in future with the Heimdall app. Although I find a lot of messages where people say, the keypad V2 can be used without the ring basis, I can’t find a way how to integrate it in Homey Pro. Do I need the ring app to set the keypad up beforehand? I tried this as well, but I can’t add the keypad as there is no basis available…

Could anyone give me a hint how to proceed to add the keypad to Homey Pro?

Hi Thomas,

Counter question: What have you tried or done so far to add the Ring Keypad V2?  
Have you installed the [Ring Security](https://homey.app/a/com.ring.security) app?  
Have you tried to add the device in the **Devices** section of the Homey smartphone app using the **+** and the Ring Security app?

Read the first post and/or search for similar problems. If you cannot find anything, you can describe your problem in the same topic. I’m pretty sure that you’ll get the quickest and best help there.

thanks for your fast answer! So far I’ve installed the Ring Security App and I’ve tried to add the device in the Homey app via the Ring Security app but always got an error message on the second step’s screen. I finally managed to add it after about a dozen hard resets of the Keypad, but now it finally worked out! 🙂 Don’t know why this happened, but I finally arrived…
