How do you track water use at home without calling a plumber?

Curious if anyone here has tried one of those smart water monitors you can install yourself? I live in an older house, and my last water bill was way higher than usual. I’d really like to see where the water’s going — maybe even catch small leaks before they turn into a problem.

I heard about a sensor that sits on your meter (no plumbing needed) and connects to your phone. Think the brand starts with Flume but spelled differently. Supposedly it shows usage in real time and even tells you indoor vs outdoor use.

I’ve seen two products that do something similar, both seem useful but a bit different in features. Has anyone compared options like that and found one better than the other?

  1. flume Smart Water Monitor
  2. Moen Flo Smart Water Monitor
Just trying to avoid spending on something that doesn’t really help. Would love to hear what’s worked for you or what you’d recommend.

I use HomeWizard. It reads the watermeter by telling the pulse of the rotar. So not suited for all watermeters.

I also use the HomeWizard water meter. More info on supported meters can be found here:

Youless is also measuring water, same way as homewizzard (pulse of rotar)

Smart Gateways is what I use and installed it myself :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:. It’s a simple solution and made by a Dutch company.
