# How do I create a flow in Homey to send me a push notification if a door is left open for more than 5 minutes?

How can I make Homey send a message to my phone if a door stays open for 5 minutes?

If door is open.  
And wait for 5 minutes  
And if door is still open  
Then push note

But maybe it is better to do it with a counter.

If door is open.  
Then start counter ‘door open’

If door is closed  
Then stop counter

If counter is empty and door is still open  
Then push note

Another alternative, if you have a Homey Pro: You can use this card from the [Device Capabilities](https://homey.app/en-us/app/nl.qluster-it.DeviceCapabilities/Device-Capabilities/) app to check whether the door sensor alarm is active for more than x minutes (1 minute in my screenshot). The nice thing about this card is that you have the option to repeat the flow/message every x minutes until the door is closed:
