Can this be copied without stopping Homey SHS? Hengelo, isnt’t there a risk that data gets corrupted when copying the files while Homey SHS is running? ---

@Emile thanks, it works now! In my case, my Mac mini has 3 ways to connect with my network (USB - Ethernet, Wifi and Ethernet directly) I had the wrong one in the dropdown. Easy fix with the help of @Emile … Finally can play around with this now! ---

Is there a different approach needed to connect to local login with the latest macOS version of SHS? I tried to access on my local network using the IP address of the Mac hosting SHS and get no response (“the server where the page is located is not responding“). Also I noticed that the Homey VM on the Mac seems to get its own IP address so I tried that and got the same error. I also noticed in the Homey iOS app when connected to SHS it has a .local URL which in my case is homey-shs.local so I tried that and got the same response. From the machine I’m trying to access the local login from I can ping homey-shs.local and get a response from the IP address of the Homey VM on the Mac. Pinging that IP directly unsurprisingly also works. I’m thinking maybe there’s something I have to do to a firewall on the host Mac or something? EDIT: I think I worked out what the problem must be. I just have no idea how to solve it. I am running Tailscale on the Mac hosting SHS. I will try to verify by quitting Tailscale to see if that fixes the issue but that’s not a sustainable option for me. EDIT 2: Nope, that wasn’t it. Quitting tailscale on the host Mac made no difference. Cannot even access local log in on the Mac that’s hosting Homey SHS. I’m going to [http://192.168.1.208](http://192.168.1.208) in a browser on the same Mac (that’s the IP address copied from the Network menu item of Homey SHS). Turning off the firewall on the host Mac also had no effect. Any ideas very gratefully received ---

I am happy that my Homey server is running, but after several hours, it is switched off. For anyone else finding the same problem as me with local login, I solved it in the end. Seems like the official instructions ([https://support.homey.app/hc/en-us/articles/22924537226268-Using-Local-Users-on-Homey-Pro](https://support.homey.app/hc/en-us/articles/22924537226268-Using-Local-Users-on-Homey-Pro)) are wrong. They say for access on local network you should just enter the IP address of the Homey SHS server. For me at least that does not work. Instead, I have to specify port 4859 (which is mentioned in the instructions as being needed when using port forwarding to access remotely). After some further testing, this appears to be true with Homey SHS hosted as a Docker container on an RPi as well as on macOS. Accessing the local login for my Homey Pro 2023 on the local network does indeed work without specifying a port so it seems to be specific to SHS. EDIT: I’ve submitted a support ticket to Athom so hopefully they can correct the support article (which also has the wrong title since it specifies Homey Pro but then is tagged as also applying to SHS, which it _nearly_ does) EDIT 2: Received a very quick response from Athom confirming they will update the knowledgebase article to correct this ---

Hmm, it’s device specific then, Wout. Pro 2026 creates a system diag just fine @ mobile app. Only in the web app I can’t enter anything, because the onscreen keyboard doesn’t get activated. ---

FYI: As the Homey application on Mac gets it own IP address on the network using DHCP from your router, you may want to to have your router set an assigned / reserved DHCP address for Homey application. My router can set assigned IP addresses, but I needed the MAC address of the Homey instance running on my Mac OS. You can check what IP address the Homey app is using through the homey menu icon (which shows up if Homey is running on the computer)→ network info .. IP address. The steps involve using terminal on the Mac and using the terminal and arp command.. summarized by Gemini: Open **Terminal** on your Mac (Cmd + Space, type “Terminal”). 1. Type the following command (replace `192.168.1.XX` with the Homey IP): `arp 192.168.1.XX` 2. It will return something like this: `homey-instance (192.168.1.XX) at a1:b2:c3:d4:e5:f6 on en0 [ethernet]` 3. That sequence (`a1:b2:c3:d4:e5:f6`) is your MAC address. Then you can add the IP address or anyone IP address you want to use now on your router using the MAC address of the Homey application running on your Mac. I did this as there is my EcoWitt weather station that can upload data to Homey, but it does it by IP address.. this works as long as Homey is not updated on the Mac or the Mac is never restarted. I installed SHS on a M4 Mac mini. The Energy panel on the mobile app takes 10 sec to update the data. Also, Insights on the web app are very slow and frequently timeout. I then installed it on a Windows 11 pc and everything works flawlessly. What could be causing this? It’s basically unusable on my Mac. ---
