So, what happens if you try to run the Homey on WiFi for a longer period? Do you see the same disconnects?

For me the ethernet dongle worked solid for a year. I switched to a PoE adapter six months ago so I don’t have any experience running the ethernet dongle with the newer firmware versions.

Probably the network controller (built into the dongle) is malfunctioning in that case. Have you already replaced the power adapter? The included adapters are known to cause strange issues.

I haven’t tried because Ethernet is supposed to be more stable… 🤷🏼‍♂️

Yes, that’s the first thing I tried. I don’t think it was on the original power supply anyway, given their reputation (and yes, it also doesn’t use the supplied USB-C cable either).

I know. But it would be a way to further pin down the issue.

Well, then the only thing I can think of is that your Ethernet Adapter’s NIC may be faulty, since that’s the only thing that stays powered when you disconnect the cable on the Homey side.
If it’s still under warranty, it might be worth contacting Athom about it.

Actually, I just remembered that I have another one. Will try and see if that one works better.

Just wanted to chime in with similar experience over the last few days. My Homey Pro 2026 is connected directly to my router using the Homey ethernet adapter. I’m using the power supply that came with the device. I don’t use wifi, the Homey is located next to the router and at a distance of a few centimeters wifi is probably not a good idea.

Multiple “Cannot connect to Homey Pro” on the iOS-app and the web app while I’m away. I’m talking 8 times out of 10. My automations are still running though. At the same time, I have no issues checking my Eufy cameras through the Eufy app so there are no internet issues at home. This used to work without issues with no changes to my home network.

Not a happy user at the moment.

Try the app „sysinternals“ and see if it reports errors. You have to install sysinternals devices to get the infos

There was a server outage yesterday, maybe that’s why you had issues connecting to Homey?

It happened almost all the time today as well.

Since you indicate that your Homey is placed next to your router: did you try moving your Homey further away from your router to prevent interference?

Just a double check: are you sure Homey is using the Ethernet connection and not WiFi after all? And is the Ethernet adapter connected correctly: the long USB cable goes to your Homey, and the short to the power plug.

Yes the adapter is installed correctly. It’s difficult to place the Homey away from the router if I am to continue using Ethernet. It has a fixed IP, something I forgot to mention.

For troubleshooting I could try to move it and switch to WiFi, but it’s working flawlessly when I’m at home.

I may be on to something. I changed the DNS settings on my router and disabled Adguard on my iPhone. Now, the Eufy app is faster and I only got one “Cannot connect to Homey Pro” so far. It’s also more snappy.

Further tests are needed to figure out if Adguard or the DNS was to blame, if the problem is indeed solved.

Sysinternals does not show any issues btw, so far anyway. It’s a great app, so thanks for the suggestion.

Unfortunately, that wasn’t the solution. I did manage to fix it though, but unfortunately it’s very specific to my situation and won’t help others.

When I’m away, I turn off my cable modem and my Asus router switches to a cellular router for internet access. After diving into the logs of both routers, I found multiple mentions of 100% packet loss and disconnects of the cellular modem. I reinstalled the cellular router’s firmware and all is well now.

I don’t know enough about networks to be able to explain why my cameras did work despite the errors.
