I have an extensive z-wave network consisting exclusively of powered devices (repeaters).

I have 9 Aeotec Multisensor 7 devices. Five of them have been paired and work without problems. However, there is a problem with the rest that I have not been able to solve for two weeks.

The problem is that the devices can be paired, but after disconnecting them from the power supply (to move them) and after reconnecting them to the power supply, the device stops working properly. This happens even when the device is not being moved (it is in the same place). Communication with the devices is - the “Test” Homey Developer Tools command works, but motion detection and other functionalities that this sensor has do not work. The device has been reset many times, the latest firmware has been re-uploaded, I have purchased two additional Multisensor 7 devices, the Homey Pro control panel has been turned off to rebuild the z-wave network, the Aeotec application has been restarted. In all these cases, the problem is the same. It looks like something is “stuck” in the hub, which is not accepting reports from this device.

Aeotec z-wave sensors can be very “[chatty](https://community.homey.app/search?q=Chatty%20zwave)”, resulting in flooding the mesh network with messages.
You could try to decrease the poll and sensor updates intervals to a more realistic number.

I have a similar issue with Aeotec Zigbee extenders since yesterday, on a Homey 2023 replaced two weeks ago. In my case the existing extenders either seem to have lost connection (they did not seem to function anymore) and lost connection completely after trying to ‘repair’. Removing and adding again (the device connects again, but only very briefly), restarting the Homey but also all applications unfortunately also does not work. Newly added extenders can be connected but lose connection permanently within a minute.

Update: as I am rather new to this I now found a way to reset the network in the Zigbee section of the developer portal, which put the channel to 25 and left me to reconnect all devices. The good news is that this works again!

Make sure to set the 2.4GHz wifi channel to preferably 1, or else 6.

but wifi has no significance here. z-wave is a completely different frequency.

My bad, Ted started to talk about zigbee.
