Homey Energy — Public Beta Megathread

Just wait for a mobile app update.

I didn’t do anything, suddenly I saw it again. Today I don’t see it again :frowning:

Just received an app update this morning. No difference

Then perhaps let’s wait for an update from @Robin

Hi,

I’m having issues with Homey Energy production readings being off due to my inverter occasionally losing connection to wifi. The inverter finds itself back within seconds but Homey Energys Logic seems to be to add the inverters daily production to to the overview over and over again resulting in incorrect production numbers. Just hoping a developer will see this message and hopefully they take a look at the logic of the overview page.

I depends on which of your inverter meters is defined as main capability meter_power. It must be the overall meter as described in the SDK. The daily meter is not useful because if it get reset, rhis change is added to HomeyEnergy, too.
I would say, the app developer has to look at it.

and don’t forget to fix the wifi, which is the main issue.
When you use A.P.'s, make sure the inverter doesn’t ‘hop’ between A.P’s. This causes brief wifi client disconnects.
You can use MAC filtering, band steering or fiddle with transmit power

I have the inverter locked to the nearest AP which is located about 1 meter away. I will have to try with an Ethernet cable if it fixes the inverter side of things.

At the moment I have generated 15.6 kwh of solar. Overview of Homey says 96Kwh generated. I believe Homey is reading the daily kwh from the inverter and adding it to Homeys counter every time the inverter comes back online.

Hi,
I’m really pleased with the Homey Energy Dashboard — I successfully added a French “lixee_TIC” (a kind of P1) and the dashboard correctly reflects my energy consumption data. Great work!

However, I’ve encountered two issues:

  1. I have solar panels, and when my production exceeds my consumption, the dashboard should display a negative value. Unfortunately, this never happens. During overproduction, the energy value remains at zero, which isn’t accurate. Interestingly, the individual accessories do show the correct (negative) values, but these are not reflected on the main dashboard.

  2. The second issue concerns the Solar section of the Energy Dashboard.

I’m using an EcoFlow system to manage my solar production, but unfortunately, the Homey Pro app doesn’t support the PowerStream device natively. To work around this, I connected a NOUS smart power plug that measures energy output and configured it in Homey as a solar panel.

The plug correctly reports negative values when energy is being fed back into the house. which is expected. However, the Energy Dashboard doesn’t reflect this production: the solar graph remains flat, as if there were no energy generated at all (see attached screenshot).

This makes it hard to monitor solar performance visually, even though the raw data is correct at the device level.

Could this be a limitation in how Homey handles virtual solar devices or negative values in the dashboard view? Any clue how to fix this, Thanks

Also here im charging the car with shell recharge but garage is still closed

Hey @Emile , the latest app update was bad. It closed the garagedoor in front of my EV. Please undo the app update, so the door opens again. Also, please let us remove the power ups in the bottom which is not relevant. We do not have any solar panels. Again, please allow the dynamic price to be updated by flow. Cheers

Update:

Disabled wifi on the inverter and it is now connected via LAN.

When I made the change yet again Homey overview doubled the produced solar production.

Will see if the cable fixes the whole issue even if there is no changes to Homeys Logic on the matter.

Hi,

On my Energy-tab the day-overview is working, but not the week overview. Any idea why?

I have a Smart-Meter for Water and Power. The Water one is properly working.

Same issue here.
Have you found a fix?

Make sure the device settings are correct (in- or exclude, enable cumulative energy)

The setting is correctly set. @Peter_Kawa

Still the same here…
