Homey Energy — Public Beta Megathread

I have an watermeter from smart gateways and it works great, but no option to place it in energy I have no option to select in advance install.

Thanks, can you elaborate this bit? I got the last one, but is this one I did not catch.

I see a similar post of another user in the Smart Gateways app topic:

Again, suggest you contact the developer.

Another user in the Dutch Smart Gateways topic was able to make this option available and activate it by re-adding the water meter. Maybe a repair might also help as a first step (via the device’s Settings > Maintenance section).

It’s better to ask in the app topic

But in short:

  • you need measure_power and meter_power capability.
  • if using imported/exported power, you need 2 meter_power subcapabilities
  • go to device settings, mark as cumulative
  • insert the capability IDs for imported/exported

I hope that’s what you want :innocent:

Thank you very much for your support and lot of reading, that’s something that is really difficult for me to do, I’m chronically ill, my brain has trouble to read a lot of text.
Again thank you the problem for the water is fixed. I also try to reinstall the other power meters.

You’re welcome. The community forum includes lots of information, which can be overwhelming. Feel free to ask your questions. There is typically always a fellow member, often with the same devices as yours, willing to help out.

Yes, just happened to me as well.

They could simply swap dasboards from the sub menu with flow in the tabs. should not be hard to do.

Energy tab has been frozen when I open it
For some time now, the information in the Energy tab has been frozen when I open it.
Only the connected devices are shown, but not their data. Once the tab is opened, the entire Homey app freezes — I can’t switch back to the other tabs without completely restarting the app.

What could be wrong?
Previously, in the beta version, the app worked fine. Since then, I’ve only added two HomeWizard batteries. I can’t recall the issue starting directly after that, though.

In short:
Before I start removing things from the app in a drastic way — do you recognize this issue? And my question: what could be a possible solution?

Similar issue here (in Dutch).

I have the same issue as you have. I also have Homewizard batteries, and app stalls when clicking on the energy tab.

I removed the batteries from Homey, and now the energy tab works.
I’ll wait a day or so, see how the app is acting, and if it still works (= does not stall), I’ll add the batteries again.

Not sure if its already fixed in beta but on the animation it looks like my car is charging all the time. Because when it’s off its still using 1 watt. And i think energy thinks its still getting power from the net. But i dont like this, it looks like the car is charging all the time. Using the shell recharge app

I added the batteries and up to 3 it seemed to work, when adding the 4th.
The app stalls.
So as I see it there is a bug in the app.

@Homewizard, make sure to solve.

Cant see neithter solar panels nor battery on Energy Tab
Received Homey Dongle yesterday, but I do not understand how to get Solarpanels and battery (both Goodwe) to appear on the tab. Furthermore the image indicates no export of power to the grid allthough there is an export right now.

Please help…

I solved the problem myself. I had set the “energy_exclude” to “true”. Stupid me…
