Well … you are correct … its the hopping

But now Athom states they can not help it.

only if the router can isolate it in its software. This is not build in with Delta fiber … so homey is basically stating the energy dongle does NOT WORK ON the new wifi 7 router from DELTA fiber in the netherlands

disappointing… especially since the dongle is the ONLY device (25 wifi connected devices) that is showing this behavior … Delta would never spent time in solving this

So i am stuck … anyone having ideas ?

can i use an alternative dongle that shows real time energy usage ?

To prevent AP hopping you can use

- MAC filtering: every network device has it’s own unique device identifier which you can allow/block on an AP
- Band steering
- Transmit power tuning

Did you already add a separate 2.4GHz wifi SSID for your IoT devices? Many IoT devices only can connect to 2.4GHz wifi.
Maybe the dongle can handle it’s wifi connection better.

or
Bypass the AP’s:
You can use an old(er) wifi router to connect the dongle with;
Configure it with the same subnet, but, use a different SSID.

That’s the silliest thing I’ve ever heard.
Ever since 2016 Homey / Athom products can’t deal (very well) with wifi 5/6/7 with or w/o APs, and I’m clueless why that is.

Standard Internet modem/routers often aren’t the most versatile or best suited in combination with IoT devices.
Consider adding your own router to the mix.

Thanks for trying to help and your time.

Mac filtering etc is not possible on The Delta wifi7 router. Also called them for support … none of the options available.

i do not have another router unfortunately.

Pfff 2026 technology 🥳

Hello,

Since a few days I’ve replaced my ( Belgian) Smappee P1 dongle by a Homey-P1 Dongle. Unfortunately, my older Smappee P1 dongle who is connected with both the P1 and the S1 port requires that mutch power/energy that he does not work by itself ( without an extra USB-adapter feed ) as a second P1-dongle after my Homey-P1 dongle. This is just for INFO for others, not that I’m asking anything related to this.

My Homey P1 dongle gives me all de METERS directly available into my Homey-Pro.

Watermeter, Gasmeter and Electricity (day-import, night-import, day-export & night-export ) .

That is all nice.

As a Belgian, I am ASKING ATHOM to please also provide the metervalue from our monthly Capacity-Tarif value.
In my Belgian Digital Meter, the Capacity Tarif is the meter-reading 1.6.0

This is VERY IMPORTANT in Belgium and this value is for me also ESSENTIAL to have it available into my HOMEY since that value determines a critical REFERENCE value for my Energy Management System that is arranged from within my HOMEY.

This CAPACITY Tarif value is a very COSTLY parameter in our Belgian Electricity contracts. I do have an EV to charge, I do have a Heat-Pump to keep running.

This CAPACITY Tarif is expensive and it’s important to try and keep that value as low as possible. This I arrange via my Homey but, when I don’t know the real value into my Homey, I need to work with a programmed, fixed maximum value that I try to keep under control.
When this measured value ( perfectly available within the Digital Meter and by that, … also for the Dongle if its captured… ) becomes available into my Homey, that will help me a lot

So my simple , actually overall important request goes to ATHOM : Please, please, … please add this meter-reading value also into the parameters made available by your HOMEY-ATHOM-P1 dongle into Homey. This is really a simple improvemend. That value is available so its only a matter of reading this out and filling it in. Piece-of-Cake…

I believe that this does not hurt anybody, that this is not at all difficult, that this contributes at least for the Belgians to the overall results and usage from this Homey-P1 Dongle.

THANKS in advance.

Walter
