Hello,

I have a rather weird issue… hopefully someone can provide some guidance please

I have a Homey Pro and a Doorbird D1101KV

I’ve setup a flow on the homey so that my Fibaro smart modules turn on lights when the doorbell rings

- at the entry outside
- in the hallway inside the house

This is the flow

When…

The doorbell rings **(this is the doorbird card)**

And…

The Time is between 6:00pm and 4:00AM

Then…

Turn on hallway ( **Fibaro card** )

Turn on Front entry light ( **Fibaro card** )

Turn off hallways after 2mins

Turn off Front entry light after 2 mins

When I use a pin code to enter the house on the doorbird SUCCESS!! the lights come on in the desired places

BUT - If I press the doorbell - lights **do not** come on ☹ (defeats the process of turning on lights for anybody ringing the doorbell

What am i doing wrong?

Not sure why it would work for the PIN and not for the doorbell ring.

1. Do i need to add the Doorbird chime added in Homey - not sure if I can add this? Tried to search for it but Homey wouldn’t find it.

In the flow I also tried replacing the “The doorbell rings” card with the “The generic alarm turned on” and this also didn’t turn the lights on.

Any recommendations would be welcome!

Show your two flows, because I don’t quite understand what you mean by “when I enter the code”

Hello @Asterix

Here is my flow…

 ![image](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex025/uploads/athom/original/3X/0/3/03153b09ac2a35923bd66edd89f1d53ec2672157.png)

What I mean by entering the code is….

On my doorbird I’ve configured a keypad code so it opens a latch so I can unlock the door

When i enter the keypad code on my doorbird and open the door - **Presto Lights come on**

When i ring the doorbird doorbell - **no lights…** ☹

This is the other flow i tried with the generic Doorbird alarm. Thought it may work because i have alerts setup on my phone when the doorbell is pressed - so I thought if the alert was generated then lights come on? - didn’t work either.

 ![image](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex025/uploads/athom/original/3X/d/4/d4cde08367b402535bd1830478103ae7c5d346e5.png)

Does that explain it?

Hopefully you can share some insights as I don’t know what other card i could use as the below are the only ones available.

I now understand what you mean.

Please show your complete flow with the code, there must be a difference between the flow with the lights.

What happens if you simplify the flow for testing purposes:

- WHEN The doorbell rings
- THEN Turn on the hallway light

Does that work?

1 Did you install the DoorBird phone app?
I ask, because with Eufy doorbells for instance, you have to enable notificatons from within the Eufy phone app, in order to get the doorbell trigger card working in Homey. Else it just doesn’t send any trigger.
Possibly DoorBird uses similar techniques.

2 Does this make any sense (note the _ **notification schedule** _ remark):

> [@\[APP\]\[Pro&Cloud\] DoorBird](https://community.homey.app/t/app-pro-cloud-doorbird/115/1):
>
> For the doorbell alarm, motion alarm, doorbell rang, motion detected and door open trigger flow cards to work in Homey the DoorBird needs to be configured to send HTTP notifications for these events to Homey. During pairing you will be given the option to configure a notification schedule. If you are using the HTTP notifications from the DoorBird for other purposes you can opt-out, otherwise leave this option enabled to ensure your DoorBird is able to communicate with Homey. You can always remove are re-add the notification schedule at a later time as well through the maintenance actions of your DoorBird.

1. Yes i have the Doorbird Phone app on my iphone

2. I do get critical alerts on my iphone when the doorbell rings but there is no card for this so i can use this as a trigger to turn on the lights.

Any other suggestions?

Just like you did with the other flows, just make one or more print screens.

I suspect that you have something else in this flow that works according to your information that you do not have with the other flow💁🏻‍♂️

Hi @Asterix

This is the screen of the full flow, there is nothing more above or below…

This screenshot taken from the Homey Webapp

Still confused why the doorbell doesn’t trigger this flow but entering the pin code does.

Not sure what other options i have

Please, send this flow where you entering the pin code. Or is that not a Flow? I mean the flow that works.

You must have a flow that starts similar to this:

WANN: entering the pin code

THEN: turn on light 1 (Is just an example)

Hi @Asterix,

That’s what I mean **I don’t have a flow for the pin code at all**.

My intent was to automate the lights when the doorbell is rung on the doorbird.

I setup the flow and realised that it only works for the Pinpad entry and doesn’t work for the doorbell.

To add, when added this flow… at the request of @SunBeech

 ![image](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex025/uploads/athom/original/3X/b/d/bd10cedeae8171c40990c53dc5c6ad7a47e65ac3.png)

When I enter in the pincode on the Doorbird the hallway lights **do turn on**.

So it seems that “the doorbell rings” card only triggers successfully when i use the pinpad on the Doorbird.

Is this a bug? can it be fixed? or surely others are using a combination of doorbird with Homey and fibaro switches.

I originally bought the doorbird due to its compatibility with Homey… but what have i uncovered?

</div>

Hi @Asterix,

Would you know if Doorbird uses HTTP calls to Homey to trigger these automations?

By chance I was reviewing my setup in the online Doorbird app and came past this

 ![image](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex025/uploads/athom/original/3X/e/f/ef6e6051e5685c9a68f5b286d80bfa44c7f781c5.png)

The image reflects the DHCP IP address for the doorbell for WiFi MAC address
i.e. 1CCAE375B1FB = WIFI Mac Address and 192.168.1.223 is the DHCP IP address

I’m not using WIFI for the Doorbird its connected to a POE switch

Its using the LAN MAC address (different to the above) and a static IP as you can see from previous screengrabs the Doorbird is using 192.168.1.209 (different to the above).

Could this be causing the issues? I’m not confident changing those values just in case i then break the doorbell.

Thoughts?

I think i worked it out… and looks like its working now - WOOHOO!!! 😀

The schedule was blank for HTTP(S) calls to the Homey doorbell trigger
Is summary it wouldn’t ever trigger the HTTP(S) call when the doorbell was pressed

As soon as I went into expert settings and then schedule for doorbell
I selected HTTP(S) calls for the doorbell trigger and then enabled it for all times (every box colour blue) and now when the doorbell rings the lights turn on…

Perfect, you did it 👍🏼

I had just suspected that the wrong setting must be in the Doorbird and actually has nothing to do with homey. That’s why I wanted to see the other flow, but you don’t have a flow for the pin entering, but this is done directly via doorbird.

Thatxs exactly what I meant, yes. Apparently @mcos0544 did not put it together at first, because

> [@mcos0544](#):
>
> I think i worked it out…

is just the same as what the [instructions](https://community.homey.app/t/app-pro-cloud-doorbird/115/1) by the app developer say.

.
I can’t get my head around why DoorBird shoved the main event, [Doorbell = pushed] under “Expert Settings”…

> [@mcos0544](#):
>
> As soon as I went into expert settings and then schedule for doorbell

My expectation from the default settings would be: Doorbell works 24/7, UNLESS user enters a custom schedule…
