# Homey cli: create app fails because of old ESLint

with recent updates Athom missed to update the homey CLI correctly which leads to the problem that you can not use the scaffolder anymore: homey app create. After running all steps the scaffolder fails because the ESLint dependency is too old to use with eslint-config-athom.

```shell

my actual package.json looks like this:

```json
"devDependencies": {
"eslint": "^8.57.1",
"eslint-config-athom": "^4.0.2"
}

```

To fix it I had to update the devDependencies in the homey app itself:

```shell
nano /home/linuxbrew/.linuxbrew/lib/node_modules/homey/lib/App.js

```

Search for: ‘eslint@^7.32.0’,  
Replace with: ‘eslint@^8.57.1’,

Should look similar to this:

```javascript
await NpmCommands.installDev(\[
'eslint@^8.57.1',
'eslint-config-athom',
\], { appPath });

```

This problem exists for me since 3 updates of the homey app and I do not understand why athom did not fix that yet.

Sure, but Athom is also fixing the issue and releasing an updated version shortly.
