After a long stable period, the last couple of weeks i’ve had to restart the homey bridge every day. Communication with zigbee devices are unstable. Some are completely unresponsive, some will trigger a few commands but not all etc. a restart of the bridge will fix things, some times i have to repair one or two devices.

I haven’t done any changes to my setup, no network changes. nothing. This looks like another broken update like the last time I had to contact support. anyone else with similar experience ?

Which Zigbee devices do you use? And is it only 1 brand that causes issues? In that case it might be a Homey Cloud issue. Also know that the Bridge doesn’t run any apps, it’s just an antenna for Homey Cloud, where the actual apps are run.

i have problems with units from develco, third reality, ikea, shelly..

This is a setup that has been stable for quite some time. But you are right of course, it can be a homey cloud issue.

try to replace the powerunit with a new one. also, the bridge has a continous stream of data traffic to the cloud environment. no issues with your firewall?. maybe a reboot…check homey status page to see the the hosting location like london, frankfurt has issues.

No, this has nothing to do with a firewall, that’s only for inbound traffic. The Bridge opens the connection to Homey Cloud, so the Bridge is the device creating the connection. Even though it can receive commands, since the Bridge initiated the connection, that still counts as outbound traffic

@Kjartan Do **NOT** disable the firewall, it won’t solve anything and it will cause security issues since disabling the firewall would allow anyone on the internet to access your internal network.

it is known with certain fw that they drop packets, latency goes up after memory leaks. a fresh reboot helps

a reboot helps every time.. for a while

Maybe I should take it as a sign when normal problem solving routine for homey is to replace the power unit… one might start to think about what kind of quality they are selling.

actually, i had same issue on a old homey 2019. worked for long time, and suddenly it lost wifi now and then (always when i am away), it was not even the stock powerblock, it was an apple block. i replaced it and problems gone.

Cheap power adapters are pretty common with smart home devices, I have many USB-powered smart home devices and I usually just replace the adapters right away, they are all very lightweight. I’ve never had any issues with Homey’s power adapter though (Pro 2019).
