Hi all,

however I’m new in the Homey community, I’m using homey for quite some time now. In this case I couldn’t find any solution to the problem, so any help would be usefull.

I have 2 Anker max AC batteries, which I would like to control with my homey, for a 0W on my meter system. However, I am experiencing a high oscilation in my flow (7kW oscillation)

Attached you can find some printscreens of my flow.

I’ve Tried using total used power, adding difference in power, breaking the parts in to separate parts with different timings. waiting times, reducing the Gain factor I’m calculating. Unfortunately nothing works, I only get a slight difference in the oscilation frequency, the amplitude remains roughly the same.

I am gratefull for any help!

PS. Sorry, all my variables are in Dutch.

When the total power changes I wait 9 seconds to recalculate the new ‘set battery to’.
(To override the HEMS of Zendure I send the calculated value every 3 seconds)
Then I wait another 9 seconds (for the timer to end) for thr battery to react and the total power to adjust to the new battery settings.

When the power changes I only add 10% (variable ‘Stap’ is 0.1) to the previous calculated ‘set battery to’- value. Thus avoiding heavy oscillation, but slowly leveling out to zero.

Hi Wim,

Thanks for your reply, I tried your solution. However, it didn’t change the oscillation by much. But this made me think of another thing which could explain this phenomenon. I checked the variables. It looks like the refreshing rate of my homewizard P1 meter is much lower than the time I would like to use for my control loop. rougly 10 to 15 seconds refresh rate. I’ll try it with another meter, maybe this will eliminate the problem. It would explain the oscilation in my case.

I’ll post if this was the solution. In the mean time, other suggestions are always welcome 😉

Maybe worth checking your electricity meter’s p1 port version. If you have a version less then DSMR 5.0 you will always Run against at least that 10s regardless which p1 meter you connect.

Thanks for the reply Antoine,

I have the AM550-TD2 meter (SMR5.0). In the homewizard app I can get the data in 1 sec. increments, it just looks like it doesn’t convert the second by second information to homey… This can offcourse well be a faulty setting, but unfortunately I cannot find any settings regarding the reading frequency.

Hi all,

I have found a solution to my problem, just wanted to post it as a reference.

In the end the problem was two-sided. The homeWizard P1 meter wasn’t fast enough in communicating the data to homey. I installed the homey P1 meter and this problem was over.

The second problem took me a bit more time. Somehow the " Logic" blocks in homey won’t calculate and " save" the variable. in my flow, I for instance calculate the number of batteries that should be used. a 1 + 1 was being saved in the variable as 1 (not 2). I installed the custom logic app, and stored the variable as a result of this calculation and the system runs, even on a cycletime of 2 second at the moment. As a second thing I did, because of the larger number of calculations I’m doing in the complete flow, I separated the flow, so each flow only contains 1 calculation. this means I have 3 flows, and at the end of 1 flow, I start the other (just as the example of Wim\_Post).

Now it’s time to buy the third battery and get a proper 3-phase battery system 😉

Thanks for the help.
