this works ![1000044335](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex025/uploads/athom/original/3X/f/4/f48991dd10f79e809b50f383543e5a775f284ebf.png) solar has to be the device class under advanced settings. anything else will mean under normal options you get to select device type: solar panels… but that doesnt show it under the outer circle ---

They should know how. Basically, need to change the device class to ‘solarpanel’ in the device .json file. ---

yes the community AVM Fritzbox app allows that. if other plugs etc are used that dont have that option it would be good if the panel allows to select what goes where. else each App provider needs to Integrate this change ---

You would have to ask Athom that as I have no control over it. ATM it’s down to the app to set the correct device class. ---

Hallo Adrian, that looks very interesting. How did you integrate the battery as Smartmeters? I would also be interested in the grid. Unfortunately, I have not received an answer from the developer of the inverter app. Is it possible to supply a virtual device with data and name the class as a smart meter? ---

I’m not sure I can answer that as I haven’t really used virtual devices, so I don’t know what is available. I will need to look back at the code to answer the battery question as it was a while ago when I did that. ---

That would make me very happy! the whole energy management of Homey is actually useless for me as long as you can’t define virtual devices as smart meters. Most batteries are connected to the DC side directly to the inverters and can only be measured with high technical effort. The inverter simply gives the value, but the device is defined as a solar panel class. I would be very happy about your feedback 😅👍 ---

When I created the Sofar app I decided to split the capabilities into those device groups (inverter, grid, battery and solar panel) specifically to make it work with Homey’s energy panel. My first attempt created one device, but I soon found that was not going to work, so I split them up. It took me a while to work out the various settings and value polarity to get the correct results in the energy tab. Since I wrote the app, Athom have introduced new settings, so there might be other ways to do it now, but thankfully my choices are still valid. ---
