# Have door sensor as zone activity for two zones?

I have a door sensor mounted on our front-door. Right now I placed the sensor in our hallway as the sensor itself is inside. But a door like this is actually on the boundary of two zones; our driveway and the hallway. So I’d like the sensor activating to trigger both of these zones as being active.

I checked whether I’m able to set a zone to active manually in a flow but that doesn’t seem to be an option? Is there another way to achieve the same?

When a sub zone gets active, the main zone gets activated as well. Put the door sensor in the sub zone.

Install Zone Activity, you can control a virtual sensor to control zone activity 😬

You can achieve the same by creating an [advanced virtual device](https://community.homey.app/t/app-pro-advanced-virtual-device-device-capabilities-app-with-unique-text-status-indicator/68198).
