I will try that tonight but my understanding is they wont work on a straight raspberry pi install

So I unplugged my Raspberry pi to move it to where I had a monitor. When I plugged it back in, it took a little while to boot and it updated to the most current version.

Could you also make sure that the changelog page for SHS is updated at a new version, @Jero?

I see v12.13.0-rc.1 is out since yesterday, but still not mentioned here…

I went through this lots and never got the update.
Chat gpt helped me in the end.
On your shs command log hit return and you should then see root@shs-homey:~#

Type exit.
Then leave it.

Apparently this is the same as shutting it down and restarting the vm but that never worked for me, this did immediately and ive just got 12.13

Doesn’t work for me unfortunately.

Unless i didnt leave it long enough? How long did it take for you before it did anything after the exit command?

I typed exit and it took literally 2 mins this morning to update.

Are you on VM workstation?
I know there was also an update of the actual VM software from the broadcom website. I also downloaded that. Not sure if thats helped with it at all

The best way to install SHS is via Docker; it makes updating very easy. I’m using the latest version, 13.2.0. You have to use the terminal and command line. If you don’t want to go through this trouble, install CasaOS; inside it, install Homey SHS. Just go to CasaOS and run the update; you don’t have to do anything else.

I’m facing this issue with every major, minor or bugfix update. Try to install via rebooting from Homey app. no success, can be reproduced.
try installing via rebooting from console. No success.
Login via console, rm -rf /tmp. reboot. Update will be applied.

same issue here (SHS on docker in ubuntu): I am stuck, anything I try is same. It looks like it is stuck to same port and restart automatically in a loop on same initial version I installed (13.4.1). Cannot take an update. Any clue?

I finally got it! Took quite sometime with Gemini help: in fact Docker was starting in snap all the time, so the homey shs was always on at the 4859 port despite all attemps to kill it. I got a command from gemini, to delete docker to start from snap (it took some GB out), and rebuilt docker outside this snap. Not sure how Docker was installed in snap from begining, apparently it may come with Ubutun updates to install it there. To prevent this in the future, i also got some other commands from Gemini to prevent any future install of docker in snap. Sorry I did not save the command, but help of some AI and ask for chekcing if docker is in snap start, and how to remove it/repair it. Note I got a warning during this remove/repair, as it could give some malfunctions, but as I use this pc only for Homey server, hopefully, I don´t really care for other snap function. The ubuntu updates seems to work fine.

Most probably you used the commands in a terminal;

to view the command history from latest to earlier:
open the terminal, and push the up-arrow-key

Alternative: open the file `.bash_history` in your home folder to view latest used commands
Eg.

```auto
less ~/.bash_history
```

(press down-arrow-key to view more entries of the file)
