Yes, this is exactly what I am running into as well. To be honest: if I find a decent replacement, I should definitely sell all of the Greenwave devices, because otherwise I will for sure continue to use them 🙂
You mention: as long as they work. But as a matter of fact in Homey they don’t really work, do they?

This is exactly the problem. But I’ve been running Homeseer with them for many years so it just means I may have to give up on Homey as a replacement hub. I am quite unhappy about it because I really do like Homey… but at this point in time… it’s too unreliable. Probably. I am awaiting Athom’s response to my findings with the backup/restore… and then I’ll decide what to do.

Having power readings from the Greenwave devices was one of the very few advantages of Domoticz over Homey. I am happy I made the jump!

Seems to be the first real and I think affordable alternative. I think I will try and sell at least one of the Greenwave power strips and replace it with one of these.

I’ve modified the code published by [GitHub - ronaldderksen/com.greenwavesystems: Drivers for Greenwave Systems devices · GitHub](https://github.com/ronaldderksen/com.greenwavesystems) . First of all, thank you very much for sharing it. With the help of AI, I’ve resolved the Z-Wave network saturation issues, and it now reports power consumption on all outlets, just like Home Assistant does.
If anyone is interested, I can post the link to the code. I was really frustrated to have to discard these devices; I have two of them, while they worked perfectly with Home Assistant.

Dear all Greenwave fans.
I understand from above that a version of the app kind of exists (in terms of the network saturation problem being solved) but not as a new version of the app (currently, not working very well, 3.2.0). This seems to be the ‘official’ Homey/Athom app… but: is it not possible to create a alternative community version that does work, with the improved code so we/I can install it in a regular fashion? (I’d hate to start fiddling with code/sideloads etc… it feels like I am jeopardising the already not so stable Homey system…)
This all assuming Athom/Homey isn’t going to bother updating the official app of course.
Anyway, I would be so pleased if I could use the Greenwave devices again!
Thanks to MacMonty for finding that solution! Hopefully it will become simply available to all…
p.s. I now see that there are volunteers associated with the Greenwave app (that hasn’t been updated for 2 years)… might it help if MacMonty contacted them to see what could be done?

The solution here is to install an older version of the app. That is a version at some time released by Athom that is not “fixed” where the “fix” is to limit the number of times the device is polled

I was aware of that… but I understood you can not simply pick up the older version in the App Store and install it. You need to do magic things. I tried once and I couldn’t get it to work.
So I am hoping for a regular version of the app that I can install in the regular way… that has the ‘un-fix’ (or re-fix?) in it as MacMonty described. That would be awesome.
Or am I missing something Rudi?

Well… “magic” is a big word I think, but indeed you cannot just pickup the older version.
Personally I don’t have means to get an app in the store and I doubt if Athom would accept an app that is just a downgraded version of their own app which they upgraded for a reason

But… MacMonty’s ‘fix’ is rather an upgrade to the current version, no? I can’t think why Athom would not be interested in that.

I didn’t check MacMonty’s version because what I currently have is working.
Athom is not interested in any Greenwave solution that is getting data every this many seconds. It’s for a reason.

I’ve had a lot of trouble migrating to Homey; this is my third attempt on the platform.
I just got back from vacation, and I don’t think I finished the final tests due to issues with Fibaro devices—issues that have only just been resolved in the latest Release Candidate (RC) launched by Homey.
Try this version to see if it fixes the Z-Wave network congestion problems; I had to make a few compromises in the code.
