Looking fr someone who can and wants to create a app for real local GOVEE connecting via MQTT.

There is allready a docker container govee2mqtt, this server scans your network and publish all govee devices found in your network in your MQTT broker.

The HA govee APP is already using this and wok great.

Looking for an app, similar to the zigbee2mqtt app but now for Govee.

This app should connect to your MQTT broker and add the devices published into homey.

This way it is real local and it depends not on the Homey restrictons regarding netwok discovery etc.

Maybe a developer finds it a great idea and want to spend some time on it, it would help to make more devices real local instead of depending on cloud connections.

I know there is already a govee app with local support, but this does not work so great on network discovery (for examply I have 18 govee devices, the home govee local api only detects about 8 of them, the govee mqtt docker server finds in the ame network all 18 devices).

Maybe these 2 apps work?

> **[MQTT Client | Homey](https://homey.app/en-us/app/nl.scanno.mqtt/MQTT-Client/)**

> Subscripe to MQTT topics

> **[Virtual Devices | Homey](https://homey.app/en-us/app/com.arjankranenburg.virtual/Virtual-Devices/)**

I know this can be done that way, but is not really user friendly and takes a lot of flows to get it to work properly, that is exactly why I suggested an app for native mqtt support, so it appears as an real device with all its options directly in Homey without to have to create a bunch of flows to get it to work….

With the MQTT Hub & MQTT Client apps (and a MQTT Broker in your network) you can create virtual devices which can send and receive MQTT messages.
No flows involved.

An example:

> [@\[Tutorial\]\[Pro\] Basic MQTT setup & connect Itho Daalderop NRG.watch interface](https://community.homey.app/t/tutorial-pro-basic-mqtt-setup-connect-itho-daalderop-nrg-watch-interface/139521):

> This tutorial is about setting up a basic MQTT system. (and yes I know there’s several other MQTT tutorials around grimacing) Additionally, it tries to explain how to connect a system like the NRG.watch [interface](https://www.nrgwatch.nl/product/itho-cve-rft-wifi-add-on/) for Itho airboxes (no need for the Homey NRG.watch app) Feel free to add missing info, or correct any possible errors. Thx, but that is complete chinese for me….

Creating the device etc is no issue, but then entering topics etc, the examples are for a fan (govee is mainly lighting), no reference points what to enter there etc. In the mqqt explorer is no similar data to be found as in the example.

So no not really a user friendly solution, hopefully someone could one day build a ‘real’ app which works more like an ‘out of the box’ experience
