All the sudden my Google Home integration just disappeared.
No way to reconnect whatever I try to do.

Removed integration in both Homey and Google Home app.
Restarted Homey, pulled power for 15 mins. Force stopped both Homey and Google Home and cleared cache. No change in behavior.

Re-added Google Home seems to be able to see, connect to Homey and control devices via Homey.
But Homey can’t connect to Google Home!

Error message “Link your Homey account to Google first in the Google Home app.” regerdless if I try to re-add from web or app…

Any ideas how to solve this?

That’s odd, I’ve never had it disappear on it’s own the last 5y.

Did you changed anything with the google accounts maybe?

.
What worked for me: it can help to temporarily turn off the phone’s wifi, and enbable the mobile data connection.
Now open Homey app
Next, open Ghome app and add “works with” Homey.

This can take many attempts before it suddenly succeeds. And you need a bit luck.

No, I had mine running for approx 2years without hiccups as well…

I tried Your suggestion (Thanks!) but so far no luck. I’ll keep on trying and meanwhile I created a ticket to support as well.

Wow, that seems like a **lot** of extra work… I have quite a lot using my Google account like Chromecasts, speakers, … to be re-configured.
So that would be the very last lifeline if everything else fails.

Got this from support as well:

“_If the problem persists, it’s usually on the Google OAuth side, and it may help to then wait 24 hours (sometimes an old token gets stuck) or force a new connection by completely signing out of Google on all devices._”

So for now it’s a waiting game (+24hrs), trying Your tip from time to time.

> A tale of sadness. I titled this post “Google Assistant not working”, but I do not think this is the usual story people expect when they see that subject. Until about twelve months ago, we had been happily using the Google Assistant integration with Homey for many years - five or more - without issue. Voice control worked reliably: turning devices on and off, adjusting the air-conditioning temperature, and generally being part of daily life in our home. Then, about a year ago, I made what tur…

Damn! The scary part is that the integration re-appeared without any manual input.

So at this point the re-integration is really hit or miss!!

Thank’s!

I’m suddenly getting a Timeline error saying that Google Assistant synchronization has been disabled because of an error and needs to be enabled again in Homey settings. I can re-enable it without any problem, but after a few minutes the same error appears again and the sync is disabled. This has worked reliably for a long time and only started happening now. I’ve also tried “Reconnect” in the Google Home app. Is anyone else seeing this recently?

No, works fine overhere.
But the sync switch randomly disables itself every x days from the day I use Homeys (6 years now).
Workaround:
Add (an) Ghome automation(s) to perform a device sync, which does the same
(devices already connected should continue to function anyways)

Thanks, that helps. I think my issue is slightly different though: the Google Assistant sync switch in Homey actually turns itself off again after a few minutes. My understanding is that a Google Home “Sync my devices” routine can refresh the linked devices, but it won’t turn the Homey sync switch back on.

Do your existing Homey devices still work in Google Home when that switch has disabled itself?

True, I’ve only seen this when Homey wasn’t added properly yet to Google Home.
I never seen a Timeline message though, and this phenomenon didn’t occur here after it worked successfully for x days/months/years.
It’s not the most stable integration, perhaps you should ignore it for a few days, maybe the switch stays on when you enable it after a longer while.
It’s a bit fuzzy.

> My understanding is that a Google Home “Sync my devices” routine can refresh the linked devices, but it won’t turn the Homey sync switch back on.

Correct. The functionality of both switch & command is the same though, see below.

Yes. Both the sync function and the switch solely add or remove Homey devices from Google Home, in case of the adding new devices to Homey, deleting devices from Homey or excluding devices from the Google integration \> this one I mean:
