# Google Assistant is stopping

Google assistant is going to stop on 4th september 2026 on many devices. They will be using Gemini.
Will the support for Google Assistant be affected by this???
I now use Google Home speakers to start Homey apps.
I hope that will be continued…

Homey support for Google Home won’t be affected, Google Assistant ≠ Google Home. For voice commands Google Home will switch to using Gemini.

You’ll need to migrate to Gemini in the Google Home mobile app, you should have already received a notification, click it and you can migrate to Gemini. If you haven’t received it, you can look for the option “Gemini for Home” in the settings in the Google Home mobile app. I’ve migrated too and it just works fine with controlling Homey devices.
