I have just changed from Futurehome to Homey - and what a difference! Almost everything is better and more well-designed in Homey :).
But, there is one thing i cannot really figure out: The last version of firmware to Futurehome termostat was able to toggle between a modus defined by temperature (sensor) and a modus defined by regulating the effect ( for example turn on for 10 minutes, then turn off for 50 minutes during an 1h cycle). I cannot find this functionality in the Futurehome-app in Homey, but i really do think that a Flow can do the trick to this.
Does anybody outthere have a suggestion about how such a flow can look like ? Or if there are any other possibilites to use the Futurehome termostat in this way?

I have also recently switched from Futurehome to Homey, and I can finally add _all_ my devices and create advanced automations (flows). Honestly, I wish I had made the switch to Homey earlier! 😎

Regarding the **FH thermostat/regulator** , it seems like it’s [not currently supported](https://community.homey.app/t/futurehome-termostat-regulator/111203) in Homey.

However, there are a few workarounds you can try:

### 1. **Manual setup on the thermostat itself:**

(May not work depending on the firmware on the termostat)

- Enter the settings by holding the **(+) and (-)** buttons together for 5 seconds.
- Go to **Setting 14 (Device type)**:
  - **Value 0** = Regulator
  - **Value 1** = Thermostat

- To configure the regulator mode, go to **Setting 15 (Regulator period)** to set the cycle duration (in minutes).
  - _Example_: If you set it to 30 minutes and the regulator is set to 50%, it will be on for 15 minutes and off for 15 minutes in each cycle.

* * *

### 2. **Custom Flow in Homey:**

- You can create a flow that operates the device as a power regulator.
- ⚠ _Important:_ I strongly recommend adding a **safety mechanism** to the flow — for example, turning off the heating if the temperature exceeds 35 °C.

* * *

### 3. **Virtual Thermostat (VThermo):**

- Use a compatible temperature sensor along with the [VThermo app](https://homey.app/en-no/app/no.almli.thermostat/VThermo/).
- This lets you build a **virtual thermostat** to control the device based on your preferred temperature settings..

Thanks for the reply! I am also very glad to leave FH…never coming back (no matter the price :)). Regarding the FH thermostats, i use the manual alternative today - i use the settings on the thermostat itself. I really want to be able to control it using Homey. In summer, it is nice to have a little warm on the floors, even though the temperature is rather high.

So, i think i would go for the “Custom flow” alternative, but i am a bit stuck when it comes to the basic of creating a custom flow that makes the thermostat acting as a regulator. Hopefully somebody can give me a clue about how to start with this?

To make the thermostat acting like a regulator, i need a kind of “timer” to define the cycles…But i cannot find any “timers” i Homey apps.

That’s great to hear!

Here’s an example of an **Advanced Flow** where the thermostat turns on for 10 minutes every 60 minutes, but only if the floor temperature is below 35°C.

 ![image](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex025/uploads/athom/original/3X/6/4/64361c1e20b6b0b1660368cdc62c68a75e9511f9.png)
If the floor temperature exceeds 35°C, the thermostat will be turned off and a notification will be sent.
You might need to set the thermostat to **Manual mode** first to prevent it from automatically switching back to thermostat mode.

Alternatively, instead of using the “Turn On/Off” cards, you could use a “Set temperature to 27°C” card. That way, you maintain manual control over the temp/ heating period.

Here’s an example setup for that approach:

 ![image](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex025/uploads/athom/original/3X/d/d/dd26b7b818b2c51a0b2593060f38ed6431f1c841.png)
Add this card to force the termostat into manual mode if needed:

You can adjust the time and temperature threshold to suit your preferences.

To start or stop the flow simply long-press on the flow and choose _Activate_ or _Deactivate_. You can also add a trigger using a virtual button or other method if you’d like.

This kind of Advanced Flow could potentially be created through the app, but I highly recommend using the web interface on a PC for a better experience 😉

It is limited with “timers” in Homey flow but you can use the app [Chronograph](https://homey.app/no-no/app/nl.fellownet.chronograph/Chronograph/) and [CountDown](https://homey.app/no-no/app/nl.bevlogenheid.countdown/CountDown/) for more flexibility regarding timers 😎

Just a quick reply: The proposed sketch for the flow is working absolutely fine. Easy and simple for a complete beginner to understand and gradually expand knowledge about. So nice to leave FH behind !!
