App working great so far!

Do you think it’s possible to have the “Change filter” function using the app?

Same unit as I have. I’ll have a look why this isn’t working properly for you.

You mean resetting the filter counter when you have changed filter? If so, yes, it should be possible to add a button or something that does this.

The test version may have a fix. Could you try it and see if you get any data?

Yes, for resetting the filter counter 👍

Yeah, I wonder there is something wrong with the Homey build pipeline now. I essentially reverted back to the live version for testing and it still won’t install the app from the app store. Installing through CLI sideloading works just fine.

Okay. Republished the test version and it is working for me now. Mind trying again?

Hi half-name brother.

Cool to see someone has taken the initiative to create this app. Good job!
I’ve been thinking of doing the same for a while now. I have the same need as I have a flexit nordic s3 at home.

I currently use the Flexit Nordic (BACnet) via HA, and see that your app is missing some features that I need. (I am a software engineer and would love to help you out maintaining and developing the app if you are interested.)

Features I use (that is missing, might be wrong!):

- supply fan control
_note: 40 is the min fan value allowed, at least on my unit._
- extract fan control
_note: 40 is the min fan value allowed, at least on my unit._
- electric heater on/off
- electric heater power on/off
- power unit on/off

I don’t like the “mode” preset that flexit go has, as they don’t give me granular control and I have a set of 10 different fan speeds combined for extract and supply based on different variables inside my home.

Having the ability to turn both heater units (one of the controllers is for heat recovery and the other is for the powered heater) is also something i leverage for more control, but might not be necessary.

Powering the unit on or off is nice for when maintaining the unit/changing filter so I don’t have to pull the breaker.

Again, let me know if you’d like any help I’m more than happy to help. Would be nice to remove the dependency on HA.

_EDIT: I’m at work, did not install your app or try it out. So if I’ve assumed something is missing and it isn’t I am sorry!_

Thanks. So those features are indeed missing. And those particular ones are actually intentionally left out (for now) due to UX reasons. At least when using standard UI elements. The fan controls are very hard to set precisely and that will mess up the pressure bias between the two fans. The on/off buttons also enable toggle on the device tile in device lists. And I don’t really want the ventilation turned off because of fat fingers.

But it could be possible to add these features using custom capabilities and only allowing them to be controlled through flows.

Happy to discuss solutions here.

Totally fair and I agree.

The fan controls in Homey’s standard UI aren’t very intuitive for precise values. For my use-case I only set them through flows to exact numbers and never touch sliders manually.

I think your idea of adding these via custom capabilities and only exposing them in **flows** sounds like a good compromise. It avoids accidental interactions and advanced users can still add automations. Advanced users can even use [Device capabilities](https://homey.app/en-us/app/nl.qluster-it.DeviceCapabilities/Device-Capabilities/) and add an _Advanced virtual device_ to add a UI to control the fans manually if they really want to.
And adding this without proper gating (lack of throttling, spamming writes, etc.) is a bad idea as it could have consequences on users hardware (one concern would be upsetting pressure balance, but the user could technically already cause this in the flexit go app or control panel).

Regarding turning the unit off: I 100% agree it’s a risky capability to expose, especially since Homey will add a toggle on the device tile. I mainly mentioned it because I personally use it for short maintenance windows (filter change or cleaning the unit) and it sounds like others have similar needs. Maybe having it as a flow only capability could be a thing? You could add a maintenance mode with a timeout, but it might be a bad idea if the user is mid-filter change and the unit turns on.

Anyways I’m happy to help implement or test if you are interested. I would love to remove HA as a dependency to my smart home.
