# Feature Request / Best Practice: “Guest Mode” Option in Virtual Devices App

Hi everyone,

I hope it’s okay to bring this up — and apologies if there’s already a better way to handle it.

I’m working on enhancing my Homey flows for overnight guests. A key scenario is automatically turning on the AC in guest rooms before bedtime. To achieve this, I’ve created a virtual device named **“Guest Mode”** (using the Light class for on/off capability) and synchronized it with a Yes/No variable via flows. I’m also using Alexa voice control to toggle it (“Alexa, turn on Guest Mode”).

This setup works well, but it’s unintuitive, since Virtual Devices doesn’t offer a dedicated “Guest” class. I need to select “Light” to get on/off functionality, which is confusing and misleading.

### ✅ My request:

Would it be possible to **add “Guest” (or “Guest Mode”) as a device class or mode template** in the Virtual Devices app?

This would make it much more intuitive to create guest-related automations, such as:

- Pre‑bedtime AC activation in guest rooms
- Alarm/motion sensor suppression
- Notification adjustments
- Lighting scene changes

I apologize if there’s already an existing solution—I’m open to better approaches if they exist. I’ve been using **ChatGPT** to guide and structure my setup and research.

If you want a modus, why do you select a device in stead of modus?
