# Extending the Zigbee Coverage between floors

I live in a house where first and second floors are occupied by my neighboor. I have the 3-4-5th floors to myself with Homey Pro positioned on the 4th (right in the middle) I also have a mancave on -1 Therefore there are 3 floors in between. I have purchased 2 Aeotec Zi Range Extenders (they are zigbee extenders)placing one on the 3rd floor the other on 1st floor. I still have no coverage in -1 What do you think I should do? Thank you.

The distance is still too big.
Unaware of your relationship with your neighbours: You could consider asking your neighbour kindly if you can plug in (a) range extender(s) into their 1st or/and second floor, and think of a compensation of some kind for the (little) energy those devices draw from _their_ grid.
Say the range extenders use 1Watt continuously , in a year they’ll use:
1 day = 24Wh
100 days = 2.4kWh
1 year = _ **8.76kWh** _

Perhaps asking your question in multiple topics is not the best way to go.

Firstly thanks for taking the time to answer one of my my questions. Secondly however; there are two questions here; (wanna make sure this is clear!) You implied that “more routers are needed to establish a solid Zigbee Coverage” So, question 1: is this the only way? which was a reply to an already existing post. Question number 2 on the other hand is: I have a “so and so problem” within my specific setup, how can I overcome this issue. Which I had to create from scratch as I couldn’t find a satisfying answer to my conundrum suite to my research within the community. Now I’ve been a member of many Q/A forums long enough to follow an adequate etiquette therefore, I don’t need a lecture, nor a sarcastic or ill placed comment about how to behave within a Q/A community.

I think I’ll prepay the yearly electricity cost and install one (or maybe two more) extenders by my neighboor to tackle the issue. Thanks for your reply.

Not sure whether you saw @Henk_Renting‘s [additional post](https://community.homey.app/t/how-to-extend-my-zigbee-mesh-via-aqara-hub-m2/46109/21) with suggested alternatives (instead of adding extra router devices).
