# Eve Door and Window Matter over thread

That’s right, but your solution via HomeAssistant also requires additional software and hardware.

I can’t say whether the whole thing also works via Android. I only have HomePods and AppleTVs around, so why shouldn’t I use them if they work and they also set up a mesh network for me.

In addition, I have connected all devices to the EveHome app (now also available for Android) via “[device] \> Settings \> Maintenance \> Matter Node”. This has the advantage that the Thread network is no longer a blackhole but only a “grayhole” and hopefully the OTA problem is now solved (unfortunately I haven’t received an FW update yet to be sure).
