In het Engelstalige Energy dongel topic staat aangegeven:

- een USB voeding aansluiten, totdat alles werkt. Vooral bij het opstarten van de dongel zouden sommige slimmemeters onvoldoende vermogen leveren aan de P1 poort
- een extern gevoede splitter ertussen zetten
