Hi

I just bought two e27 eglo zigbee bulbs and a eglo Connect-z Remote 2.0.

I can pair the two bulbs just fine.

But when trying to pair the Remote, it finds the Remote in parring mode, but it keeps trying and says it’s taking to Long.
Finally it comes out saying pairing failed.
I tried pairing directly to the Eglo App which connects just fine, and updated the firmware to 2.7.3 which is the latest.

I have the homey pro running 10.3.0 Rc 7.

I have reset the Remote and tried multiple times without any luck.

Do any of you guys have some tips, have you succesfully done it?

Thanks 🙂

Hej Rasmus, welcome.

Hint, while the remote is a battery operated device, keep it from going into sleeping mode, by pressing the pair button every other second during the pair process.

How? Do you own an Eglo zigbee hub as well? Just curious.

And please try to post in the appropriate app topic.
When searching for ‘app eglo’ I got this app topic as result:

Thank you for welcoming me. 🙂

Its my first post and i am quite new to this Forum, i Will try to be a little more specific when posting thank you for the heads up.

The Remote connects directly to the phone via Bluetooth and can be paired to groups of bulbs through there.

I have just tried your suggestion, still no luck. ☹

Yeah, that’s not a warning, but it just tells you Homey can’t control the remote.

Of course the remote should be able to control Homey by triggering flows;
In the app store you can view the available flowcards

 ![Screenshot_20240606-180957_Chrome](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex025/uploads/athom/original/3X/0/9/09bf737f6b8bdc04162945a5bcbeeeb65fe4f070.jpeg)
So there’s only WHEN cards available, b/c it is just a remote control, it is not a light or a switch (which can be controlled by Homey).

Finally I got the answer…
It’s due the zigbee bug and therefore no solution at the moment.
Hopefully the solution is near…

Im on an list now waiting to get informed when something is changed…

Hello Guys. Just noted that a firmware is available for the remote solving connection issues.

Didn’t test it completely yet, but I was able to get a response in a simple flow…
Good news!

Thanks Nils, the Update was done successfully. Thanks for telling us 🙏.
The only think is that after I programmed each button for some flows/devices, when I press one of the buttons, all the devices/flows are triggered, the ones which are related to the remote buttons. You have this issue?

Hi everyone. It took me some trial and error to pair up **Eglo’s Connect Remote 2.0 to Homey** , but here’s the process that got it working:

1. Install the smartphone app called **AwoX HomeControl** (don’t get confused, the old AwoX app won’t work, you need exactly this newer app version)
2. Start the **AwoX** app, set the remote in pairing mode with [on] + [blue] simultaneously for 3 seconds – it will blink with red light, pairing activated.
3. Connect it to the app, then run **Upgrade the firmware** (mandatory step, to make it work with Homey).
4. It’s important to **factory reset the remote** with [on] + [colored wheel] for 3 seconds, otherwise it won’t connect to Homey. Remote should blink many times with red LED again.
5. Remove device from **AwoX HomeControl** app.
Set Eglo Remote 2.0 into **pairing mode** by pressing [on] + [blue] simultaneously for 3 seconds
6. In **Homey’s Eglo app** press **add device** and choose _Remote 2.0_ - it should show up and pair up.
7. … profit! \<3

Unfortunately without those actions, the remote won’t connect, as it runs the old firmware and requires to be updated. It’s for good, anyway, as they had quite a few security fixes as well.

Hope this manual helps! Don’t forget to like this post, so it bubbles up in the search.
