you can also use an app like [Ultimate EMS](https://community.homey.app/t/app-pro-ultimate-ems-intelligent-energy-management-for-solar-battery-ev-and-heat-pump/155475) that wil do solar forecasting. For the orientation, a north-west orientation would be a good addition (opposite panels). This is also a common setup and spreads the peak a bit more. ---

A “steep” angle is 45 degrees. What do I set for vertically mounted panels? Will it optimize it that far? ---

I have east west set up too. Would be good to have more customisation on this going forward, really useful tool ---

It’s also already possible. You can create one panel to the east, and one to the west. ---

Yes, that’s what I’m talking about, please see the link: “Homey Energy now forecasts your solar production and tracks what exporting power to the grid earns or costs you. Use the forecast in Flows, and set your export rate so Homey includes it in your energy calculations.” I haven’t been able to make a flow with the built in solar forecast. ---
