# Do I need a homey bridge?

I’m looking at the Homey Pro and it seems you can also get the honey bridge to potentially expand the uses of the honey pro?
I’m not sure why I’d need both?

As a starter, you don’t need or want the bridge.

Here’s the functionality:
You don’t need it as special zigbee/z-wave router. Almost any mains powered zigbee/z-wave has the same router functionality built in.
