I have my SolarEdge inverter, meter and battery all connected ok and can see the data all ok.

I now want to create a flow:

When:

[Card] “battery becomes less than 53%”

Then

[Card] "battery charging state changed to charging "

I can see the selection of cards for SolarEdge for the “when” statement but the SolarEdge integration does not show at all for the “then” statement.

Looking at the overview of the app, this should be possible because a similar example is shown. Why can’t I see the SolarEdge integration and cards in the “then” section of the flow?

I am running self hosted server if that has any impact?

Indeed there’s no Then cards shown at the preview @ homey.app store.
I guess you’d contact the dev

Maybe you’d install the ‘home load controller’ as well:

Yes I am happy to do that but was just asking here incase it is something I have done wrong as I am a new user so the problem could have been caused by me 😬 before I escalate to the developer 😊

Yeah, I get it, but those cards simply aren’t available. Not for the inverter as well. That’s why I think you’d best discuss with the dev (maybe he can add a bit of documentation).

Only the load controller has a “set state” card, as it seems (but that probably requires a physical “home load controller” device).

Thanks, Peter
I have emailed the Dev to raise this topic. Hopefully this can be fixed easily.

I use this app for Solaredge [SolarEdge + Growatt TCP modbus | Homey](https://homey.app/de-de/app/solaredge.modbus/SolarEdge-+-Growatt-TCP-modbus/), and in the App Store I’m shown fewer THEN-cards in the flow.

In the flow I can select the following THEN-cards:

I did also see that app and installed it on my system. I can see the app has some memory allocated to it but it doesn’t appear at all in the list of apps. I have no idea why I cannot see it. I plan to delete the app and reinstall it to see if that helps it to install properly.

Because it doesn’t provide for any flows apart from flows belonging to installed devices;
You’ll need to add a device after installing the app, Peter.

On the next screen, select the Solaredge + Growatt app in the “Brands” tab

and then select a device like “inverter” or something alike.

Hi Peter
I uninstalled this app and reinstalled it. This time I got an extra step to choose my inverter brand and type. And after that the local IP address. This time it connected perfectly.

I have now added the flow rules to control this but I have found they don’t seem to be working at all 🤷. When I set to charge the batteries from a certain time nothing happened. I added an extra flow rule if battery % \< 54% to start charge, that didn’t work. So I manually started my charge by adding it into the SolarEdge app in the manual battery settings where I normally control this type of thing. I also tried a force discharge flow as well and that hasn’t worked either. Data is visible on the different entities that are exposed so I know it is connected to the inverter but it doesn’t seem to want to give the inverter any commands or the inverter isn’t happy to receive them.

Would you have any suggestions I can try to overcome this?

Thank you
Peter

As far as I know the Solaredge + Growatt app controls inverters and such using the “TCP Modbus” protocol, Peter.
See:

> [@\[APP\]\[Pro\] SolarEdge + Growatt TCP modbus](https://community.homey.app/t/app-pro-solaredge-growatt-tcp-modbus/45487):
>
> Purpose The difference of this app and the already existing solar panels app is that this app reads the data directly from the inverter. The solaredge api and others are mostly limited to 300 calls/ day, so you get only updates every 10-15 minutes. The modbus app receives data every few seconds. If you have the Solaredge energy monitor installed you can maximize your self-consumption and limit your exported power by using it. You can make flows based on your generated solar power, exported p…

If your inverter hasn’t got TCP Modbus built-in, you can consider adding a 3rd party Modbus-LAN interface.
Example:

> [@\[APP\]\[Pro\] SolarEdge + Growatt TCP modbus](https://community.homey.app/t/app-pro-solaredge-growatt-tcp-modbus/45487/1579):

I connected both my Growatt 3000TL3-S inverters to the module and after some fiddling on the Inverters (Giving each a unique ID) and in the module’s settings I got it working! Here the settings that work for me: I made the following changes that differ with de module’s default settings: Network Settings Device Port, set it to 502 IP Mode, switched it …
