# Connecting Aqara doorbell to Homey

Good day,
Recently I purchased and installed my Aqara Doorbell [Aqara G4 Smart Wireless Video Doorbell - No Subscription](https://www.aqara.com/en/product/smart-video-doorbell-g4/)
This is nicely connected to the network though when installing the app of Aqara I can’t find anything related to this doorbel.
Is there any path known of when this device is going to be supported. I would like to make a script to make some lights in the house flash when someone rings my doorbell.
So far it works in my google Nest Ecosystem and it can turn on lights now in a set color but If possible I would like to have all my scripts configured in my Homey Pro (2023)
From Aqara I can only find some switches and motion sensors so none of them seem to even get close to adding my doorbell.

Did you find your device on the app page off Aqara?
If not, then it is maybe not supported (now)

Sounds like you’re looking at the Aqara _Zigbee_ app, which isn’t the right one anyway.
It _may_ work with the [Xiaomi Mi Home](https://homey.app/nl-nl/app/com.xiaomi-miio/Xiaomi-Mi-Home/test/) app, but I don’t see it mentioned anywhere, in which case there’s a big chance it’s just not supported in any way by Homey (at least not directly).

Might there be a roadmap somewhere of devices to be supported in the nearby future?
There are doorbells of other brands supported and the Aqara one is quite new compared to the others.

You can start by searching the forum for other users that mentioned the same device, and also find the support thread for the correct app and ask there (provided it hasn’t already been asked and answered).

You can wait for Matter support (but often Aqara Matter only works in combination with an Aqara hubs)

You could request for G4 doorbell support with Martin here; But I’ve read there’s no API for the G4, chances are not high;

Hi martin, thanks for you work, I bought this doorbell today but I can’t connect it to my Homey Pro 2023 with your app, do you have a process to connect it? For my part I simply put it in pairing mode but homey doesn’t detect anything … thank you for your help

Add it to the aqara app first. After successful add you should be able to add it to the app.

Hi, I do not have anything to do with the Aqara app. I provide a solution using the Homekit Controller app. So the doorbell is added thru that app.

I understand, when I try to add the doorbell true your app HomeKit Controller I get the message “no devices found”
Any suggestions on what else I can try?

You need to add the doorbell to the Aqara app first. NOT the Aqara app in Homey but the Android/iOS Aqara app.
First read the Instructions at the top of the topic for the Homekit Controller app in this forum
