# Cast a text to google suddenly stopped working

I have been using Cast a text to google on a nest mini for years but suddenly it stopped working.  
To test I created a flow doing only that and nothing happens, also no error messages.  
I changed to different languages, speech speed, ook naar gedempt (translation also to muted?) no difference, no speech.  
If I make the flow in stead of speech change the volume of the nest to 100% it does work and I get a confirmation beep from the nest.

Same here, started maybe a couple of weeks ago. I get the strange error that if I cast to the Nest in the hallway it talks on my boys Nest. And if I cast to the Nest in the living room it comes up in the study rooms Nest. Very puzzling.  
And if I cast to my other Nests (yes, I have many) it doesn’t sound on any Nest.

Hi again, I managed to solve my problem by factory resetting one of the nests which had stopped working with “Cast a text to google”, then adding it to Google Home and finally Homey. Could be worth a try

Hi. I found out it’s more simple for me. I totally forgot that this functionality comes from an app. Just restarting the app solves this. Since a few months i find i have to restart apps on a regular basis anyway btw.
